2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumI've been saying Hillary is getting a free pass from Bernie, so...
how far should his supporters go? We know Bernie wants to stay out of the muck and the mire. He believes his message is so powerful that it should resonate with those who hear it and they, in turn, will be motivated to turnout and vote. But, in addition to being an outsider, Bernie is a newcomer to national politics. People don't know him or his platform. It just takes time, but he's only been on the national scene for a few months. And being an outsider, he doesn't have the benefit of a machine; in fact, he's fighting the machine.
So, to my point, should, at this late stage, Bernie supports do Bernie's dirty work? I know, many Hillary supporters think Bernie's have gone too far, already. I disagree. Based on what I know about Hillary and the Clintons, so much more could be done. That's why I say she's getting a free pass.
This is a tough one at this late stage. I got most of my info recently from reading DU and doing my own investigating. So it's like a Hail Mary, now.

(5,252 posts)When I say "dirty work" I mean educate people about her and the Clintons. There's so much valid/actual material to work with, one would be an imbecile to make shit up. Lying, making shit up would backfire, too. That's why it's a tough call. It's there but it's very late. It's a Hail Mary.

(3,017 posts)From what I've read, Bernie drew much sharper comparisons of his positions and voting records versus Hillary last night at Chicago State University. I haven't seen the video of the speech yet but plan to later today.

(5,252 posts)I know there are many out there now. I've watched them. They're pretty good. But I know there can be a lot better, more impactful. Not sure it's a good idea at this time.
