2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumMy opinion on the difference between a Bernie win in November and a Hillary win.
Both may have another obstructionist Congress to deal with.
Bernie will win with a huge populist, progressive voter turnout.
Hillary will win because she has a (D) behind her name.
Which one will push the repukes more and stand a better chance of gains in the 2018 midterm?

(872 posts)if nothing else, a president like FDR who tells it like it is. The bully pulpit.
With Hillary it's War and Wall Street.
The people who are working their butts off for Bernie (really, for us) will do the same to help get progressives elected to Congress.

everything on Republicans and those disaffected voters, the more losses we'll likely see.

(221 posts)They are sure they can beat Bernie while Hillary has their panties in a wad.
I have always voted for whomever the repubs hate the most. Up till now I thought no one would top Obama but it looks like Hillary will do it.

(145 posts)Just look at his history passing hundreds of progressive amendments while in a republican majority congress.
Hillary, on the other hand, will potentially face an even more obstructionist congress than Obama. She is anathema to the GOP.

(869 posts)so it doesn't have to do with the national candidate....has to do with the fact that voters on the right are fed up and swing voters (moderate republicans..vote hrc, libertarians vote bernie) at the local level will swing it to the dems no matter what ...not because of dem national candidate but because they are tired of the GOP politics....

(869 posts)to be clearer...republicans don't like the GOP ...they are voting for Trump... that says it all
