Let's have a thread about the moderator

I thought she was far better than Jim Lehrer. She had excellent questions, and she kept control of the format.

I will also say both candidates treated her respectfully, a claim Romney can't make about his behavior at the last debate.

She knew the information, she asked hard questions (that I'm sure Fox News and the republicans will be crying about) and kept their ramblings under control.

Probably one of the better moderators that I've seen.

her first question but Joe handled it well. She also let Ryan go on too long at times causing Joe to have to interrupt which could have backfired on him but didn't, thank God!

She is the best moderator I have seen in quite a while. Although, someone said the last Brown Warren debate moderator was good too. I haven't seen that one yet. Will have to look for it and watch it. I just love Warren.

Come on...what does being catholic have to do with abortion. And frankly, that question pissed me off the way she worded it. Why didn't she ask about women's health issue rather than abortion?

I take my Mom to church every Sunday because she's 94 and she could not get there any other way. Almost every week abortion is mentioned in some way.

But she should have posed the question more about the rollback of women's reproductive rights nationwide, rather than about the candidates' personal feelings.

Ryan doesn't even deserve to discuss those issues with someone as expert as Biden. So glad Biden called him out on his malarkey!

religious question!

It is a question of individual liberty in a country with a separation of church and state that we should be proud of!

Joe once again answered well and courteously pointing out that we live in a diverse country and he believes women should have the right to control their own bodies.

But Martha was so out of line-- kind of a Taliban approach-- as though the politicians' personal religious feelings should even enter into the very important discussion of the rollback of women's rights.

She should have asked Ryan why on earth he would promote defunding Planned Parenthood when they provide women with crucial health services, 97% of which have nothing to do with abortion.

She interrupted Biden several times and let Ryan go on and on without answering questions or giving specifics when she asked for them. And the mention of unprecedented "2 Catholics on stage" comment turned my stomach. Of course, that led into a question on their religion which forced me to turn it off at that point. Why in the hell is she bringing up religion in a political debate? I felt that in the last 45 minutes or so Joe reined her in a bit, but the first 20 minutes or so was tortuous. I agree with the folks who said "Too much international!"

The moderators and journalists need to call out the bullshit instead of just letting the bullshit stand under the guise of 'non-partisan journalism.' Even on NPR I hear stuff I KNOW is a lie but they dont challenge anyone on it. The Fox Psychos are calling to everyone else the 'liberal media' no matter what so you might as well start acting like journalists. Fight the war, fuck the norm Why stand on a silent platform?

when he said the intel failed. That was a direct hit to Radditz. If Joe hadn't come out swinging she would have spent the rest of the night piling on, so we can thank Joe for making sure she didn't. Just my humble o of course, but I've seen her in action and she's no particular friend of Dems.
