Biden accomplished his goal tonight, and then some

His goal wasn't to win some meaningless poll on CNN that nobody will remember a few days from now. Biden's job was to re-energize the Democrats after a dispiriting week and to further survey the battlefield for Obama in the upcoming debates against Romney. Romney will have to be in line with what Ryan said, so Obama will know even more clearly what to expect and what to attack.

CBS's poll is the only official one that got a snapshot of the Undecided mindset, and that was clearly in favour of Biden.

You know that Biden won because the only thing that the GOP can talk about is how it was a draw or how rude Biden was. They know that Ryan didn't give satisfying answers to any questions so they're backpedalling and obfuscating.

Biden essentially unleashed a week's worth of pent-up Democratic frustration upon hapless Ryan, and now, we can move forward. Most polls were showing the Romney Debate Bounce to be fading, but this will definitely put an end to it and Obama can go on the attack once again.

Thank you, Vice President Biden!

I just hope Mr. Obama comes out swinging like Joe did. He's the one that needs to relight the fire. Booster Oct 2012 #3
Exactly. Biden's goal was to fire up the Dem base and not lose to Ryan. Jennicut Oct 2012 #4

I know he won because I watched him laugh while he smacked that Pipsqueak and knock him on his butt a few dozen times.

And I think after watching Joe tonight, he will do just that.

He did both of those and then dominated with his intelligence. Ryan was also brought down a peg or two by by Joe.
