#1 Reason for Sanders: Having an honest President that fights for the people and will veto

any 1% legislation. Think of the alternative with the TPP and the TISA coming down the pike.

A corporatist President will also appoint corporatist judges.

That Party Chair will continue to pack the Democratic Congress with corporatists. At the end of another corporatist's Presidency we will be exactly where we are now. And, the same people that LIKE the status quo will continue to shout us down that it's impossible to have the nice things that other First World countries provide for their citizens (that Bernie wants to begin working towards providing for us all).

It'll be another decade down the drain.

So sad for those of us that truly care about these things.

So glorious for the corporatists that like the New Democratic Party. They will be joyous. I don't know how I can continue to align with these people politically. I really don't.

one exception. I question whether we can rightfully call ourselves a First World country. Look at our crumbling infrastructure, our lack of universal health care and practically no mental health care, our enormous prison population and for profit prisons, our militarized police, the widening gap between rich and poor, our homeless, the millions living below the poverty line, our pathetic excuse for mass transit, our underfunded schools where teaching to the test is an obsession, our acceptance of low wage no benefit jobs, our "you're on your own" attitude when it comes to caring for the elderly, and on and on.....

Are those the marks of a First World country that puts its citizens first? Sadly, no. Bernie has it right. All the others are only interested in lining their own pockets and making sure their corporate pals are taken care of. And a big chunk of the so-called Democrats on this board are fine with it and don't care that with either Hillary or any Repuke sitting in the Oval Office nothing will change.

all trade bills that come to her desk.

Another reason for not ever, ever voting for Hillary.

It's a really tough thing for me to refuse to vote for a Democratic presidential candidate.

But I cannot do it. My conscience will not allow it.

And I repeat because this is very important, I will support strongly and vote for every other Democrat on my ballot unless they support charter schools and are running for the school board, but I CANNOT VOTE FOR HILLARY. never, NEVER, N E V E R.

She is too corrupt and her policies too detrimental to our country at this time when we need change especially with regard to the environment. We cannot get change in our environmental policy unless we push the leaders of our economy to invest in that change. We cannot get the changes in our education or health policies without leadership that is capable of working without corruption and pay-offs.

And I and I'm sure every other grandparent in this country wants leadership toward peace, not leadership intent on arming every despot on the planet. Hillary has been a super-saleswoman of weapons and in some of the most volatile areas of the world.

Hillary does not represent the leadership we need at this crucial time in our history.

I will not vote for someone who has been bought by Wall Street. I will not vote for Hillary.

The Supreme Court. With Scalia's replacement currently up in the air, and two liberal-leaning justices potentially retiring after the election, Hillary could be the difference between a centrist (if corporatist) Supreme Court or a Supreme Court packed with right-wing extremists.

Yes, it may feel like I'm voting for the lesser of two evils, but for me that's a convincing enough reason to vote for Hillary.

It is important that the best person stands the best chance of being elected. That said Hillary has the DNC behind her, and has the big money coming in. I don't watch much TV but my daughter who does says the ads Hillary is putting out in Minnesota are out numbering Bernie's ads by a lot. That makes me think that right now, I still will fight for Bernie, but I think the system is rigged against electing the most electable right now.

I hope, in time the odds will not be so stacked, but I will vote for her if she gets the nod. The alternative would be catastrophic. Trump????? Are you kidding me? It would be a disaster if people did not vote for Hillary because of our loyalty to Bernie. Pride goeth before the fall they say, and allowing that monster Trump to lead our nation would be terrible.

of how I feel about Bernie and his movement. Clintons are way too corrupt. Way too connected to and owned by corporate America. Way too involved with big money from all over the world. If she becomes president, I will give you 10 to 1 she gets impeached -- unless corporate America can buy off enough senators.

Sun Feb 28, 2016, 11:42 AM
Feb 2016

it's not clear what direction we're going

I recommend a book to you, a relatively short book about power struggles,
vacuums, historic shifts

"The Russian Revolution" by Robert Goldston

It's not bogged down in details, it shows how power is pulled this way,
and that way, how momentum shifts, how opportunities are seized, and squandered

I'm not posting this for ideological purposes, it's not a comment about revolution, or
socialist revolution, it's about the tug of war in a society confused about power

Trump is currently trying to seize the opportunity, Mitch is sitting on his hands
to grab it when he can, Bernie is generating power, HRC is seeking a return to the
status quo

Read the book, and get back to us, what do you think?

in bed with military, banks, wall street, incarceration, and with so many investigations going on. With the greater numbers of crowds and marches and polling here there is a discrepancy at the polls. We still have black box voting and I feel sick this morning. If another crook wins the WH our fight to win back this country will be very different. And I am convinced HRC may not win against Trump.

40. This little light of mine
Sun Feb 28, 2016, 01:41 PM
Feb 2016

Was lit when I was five and was flooded in empathy for the kid who was crying after hitting his head on the monkey bars.
I gave him my box of raisins and he stopped crying.
That light was almost blown out in the 7th grade when they announced over the PA that JFK had been killed.
I realized how quickly the forces of evil can destroy the hopes and dreams I had instilled in a President.
The feeling of love that emerged in the 60's was squashed as I was a eye witness to the death of the hippy movement at Altamont.
Jimmy Carter brought back my faith that truly good men can become President.
That faith was sorely tested as I watched him taken down by the powers of darkness.
I lost faith in the political system and voted for Larry Harmon aka Bozo the Clown's Peace and Laughter Party.
It felt good to feel good about "throwing my vote away"
I voted for Clinton the first time but quickly soured on him as Oregon's economy collapsed around the Spotted Owl.
I heard him cluelessly say he "felt our pain" and told us to go to school and become computer programmers.
So I voted for Gary Johnson instead of Clinton' second term.
The emergence of Bernie has fanned my flame of hope.
We share the same vision and my "gut" street smarts tell me he's the real deal.
But unfortunately "resistance is futile" against the Corp. powers that decide who is in power.
Until then I'll continue to wear my Bernie gear, bumper stickers, yard sign and letters to the local papers.
Sorry Hillary supporters, but her voice when she goes shrill is torture to my ears.
And the thought of hearing it for eight more years dims my light.
