out Sanders and hand the primary to Clinton. They will do massive GOTV if she is the nominee. The problem is she does not generate enthusiasm in the base and has little cross over appeal, so the turnout trend above will not increase much.

Assuming you believe their job is to elect more Dems. Not sure they think that's their job.

They have done everything possible to alienate the base- to tell the grassroots "fuck off, we don't need you" To telegraph to working class and young voters that they couldn't care less about them.

Here's a thought: give voters something to vote for! The other guys suck works to some extent, but obviously not well enough.

and people need to show up to vote against them.

The Democrats have two excellent candidates and most Ds will support either one, hence the low turnout for the primary. They WILL show up in November to vote against Trump or Cruz.

thereby depriving Bernie Sanders of the win.

Then ramp up the GOTV effort after she's the nominee.

Problem is, there's absolutely zero evidence that a June - November GOTV effort will produce enough Dem voters for HRC.

In fact, I'd say just the oppposite. She's not compelling enough for people to get excited over

Really is that the R's go ahead and run someone other than the nominee and split the vote. A brokered convention that boots trump and he runs independent.. Best shot we have..

...And establishment Republicans will run a third party candidate, probably Romney, to throw the election to Hillary. Romney won't win. He's not expected to. He only needs to deny Trump certain key battleground states.

Trump is too much of a risk to the establishment. He doesn't play by the rules. He didn't take K Street money. He doesn't owe any favors. He was never supposed to make it this far. Hillary is a Washington insider. She knows the game. She'll play ball and buy the Republicans four more years to figure out how in the hell Trump happened and put the necessary checks in place to ensure someone like him never happens again.
