I'd say Palin is more the penultimate conservative crybaby. Her entire political career has been about playing the victim. Her critics, the "lamestream media", her former advisors, everyone's out to get her because she's a po' widdle hockey mom and a "true patriot". She's the ultimate case study in fundamentalist persecution complex; the kind of person who gets off on the feeling of martyrdom because it serves to convince them that they are in league with Jesus Christ. Another group that follows this template to the letter is the Westboro Baptist Church (aka the Church of "God Hates Fags&quot . They antagonize everyone, so that whenever anyone retaliates, they can clutch their chests and wail and moan about how they are being persecuted for their unwavering devotion to the Scripture. It is a sick compulsion, and one that is equally on display in these two merging factions.
