Hillary Clinton RetweetedBernie Sanders ?@BernieSanders
America's first black president cannot and will not be succeeded by a hatemonger who refuses to condemn the KKK.

(7,661 posts)no going back now and make nice with the Sanders supporters. We have been labeled as sexists, racists, right wingers and parasites that just want free stuff......

(1,508 posts)she's trying to use every trick in the book. I especially loved this picture posted by Octafish earlier:

UglyGreed
(7,661 posts)she thinks it is over and now after all the slander it is time to make up and unite. Will it work? I don't know.
monicaangela
(1,508 posts)but I don't believe it will work on the majority of voters who are paying close attention to these tactics.

(86,005 posts)...it's an adult recognizing the need for Democratic unity against right wing hatred.
What you're doing here is deflecting from that effort and attempting to substitute petty campaign politics for this unifying gesture. Inspiring.
UglyGreed
(7,661 posts)right after SC she believe it is all wrapped up. Give me a break.
The type of anger you're responding to does us no good.
We need to focus on the real issue here - some crazy hate-filled bigot is attempting to take over our government.

(9,497 posts)I always brace myself before I open an OP you have written.
Still read them, though.
For now.

(10,164 posts)And that's from someone who will never vote for her...but some things transcend this division, and opposition to bigotry is high on the list. Well done, Madame Secretary.

(30,481 posts)I have been called much of the same here by Sanders supporters. Throw anti-Semite and narcissist on for fun.
Most Sanders supporters are great.

(86,005 posts)...and the ONLY feedback I've gotten has been from the internet and this forum.
I must say, the notion of these folks directing his political 'revolution' is very disturbing. I don't believe I've witnessed a more ill-conceived and counterproductive political movement.

I do think Bernie has struggled to get some name recognition amongst people who don't follow politics. Of course, this is an anecdotal example of one, so take it for what it's worth.
But I agree, I don't have a lot of political junkies in my circle of friends and I also don't know anyone who's supporting Sanders. My Democratic friends are going for Hillary, and most of the Republicans I know (not very many, like 3) are going for Trump.
bettyellen
(47,209 posts)the SC nominees and what it means long term. And they are rightfully repulsed by Trump et al. No one buys the Hillary is a Republican meme at all. Well, one sort of does, but he will still vote for the Dem nominee in November.

(10,164 posts)I don't think I know a single Hillary supporter IRL...and I definitely live in a liberal place (Portland...). It's virtually all Bernie.
UglyGreed
(7,661 posts)like photo-gate, electability issues, red baiting by Chris Matthews and others, Bernie Bros meme, rainbows and unicorns and other actions by some Hillary supporters I believe it is going to be hard to heal those wounds. Many may just feel defeated and stay home.
NCTraveler
(30,481 posts)Decades of the right lying about Clinton, smears from the "left", and all kinds of other shit; and I'm not wounded.
Who are these people with such deep wounds?
UglyGreed
(7,661 posts)just to survive...........
NCTraveler
(30,481 posts)I fully agree with you on that aspect. But it is a complete conversation change from your initial "They Are Mean".
Lots of republicans are struggling as well. I'm not going to change support of verbiage because of that. I'm going to keep working for a more just society that will raise their boats as well.
UglyGreed
(7,661 posts)with this and this tweet. People are fighting for their livelihood and we are told to accept the status quo and that the one person who may try to help us is useless. He not a Democrat....it's true, it's true. Now you expect people just to fall in line as some Hillary supporters here say they will do??? We will see if that will happen.

(12,689 posts)Besides, the people who have made racist and sexist comments (and there have been a few online) probably are not going to vote for Clinton anyway.
UglyGreed
(7,661 posts)Camp Clinton retweeted the Bernie Sanders camp to date? And then the meme is repeated

My vote is not 'easy'.

(7,661 posts)they will call you names and label you if you feel this is just political maneuvering.
The GOP leadership does seem to be trying to find a hatemonger of the other kind to run in Trump's place. Good news, everyone!

(45,319 posts)minority groups as fodder for negative campaigns. I mean, three years ago she was fully opposed to the equality of minority groups her preacher told her to dislike so as a champion of decent treatment of others she is lacking in credibility, still struggling to gain the trust of the people she has insulted and trash talked.
It's nice to see that she objects to the KKK with almost the same vehemence with which she objected to LGBT rights. It is encouraging. She seems to be figuring out who the bad guys really are, at long fucking last.

(9,289 posts)who has consistently supported policies that have hurt blacks far more than the KKK has in the last 25 years. And before some idiot alerts on this, my comment is not in any way pro-KKK. It is anti-HRC.
...she was Obama's Sec. of State. The disconnect in these criticisms of Hillary's foreign policy is stunning.
Hows that nonsense about her 'policies' toward 'blacks' working out for you folks?
Vattel
(9,289 posts)How about the increase in troops in Afghanistan? How did that work out? And how is her support for welfare reform and criminalizing marijuana and increasing prison populations and three strike laws, etc. working out for Americans?
