Polls released today were not CONDUCTED today so they still show traces of Romney "bounce"

that is nearly gone.

sorry, kids.. but I'm not counting any polls that were taken before today as any sort of sign
that the vp debate had no effect on the numbers. THE NUMBERS AREN'T OUT YET.

Monday morning poll results will show much different results than last Monday's.

I dont expect the polls to be effected that much. Ive never heard of someone changing their vote based on the VP debate.

It might stop the bleeding. But it's Obama on the top of the ticket. And it's him that must seal the deal in the next two debates.

We won't know what is going to happen until we see how OBAMA performs.

Yes it's good that Joe Biden did well, and my respect for him was strengthened last night.

But all of these threads saying "Just wait until the V.P. polling begins to show up!" don't seem to have an understanding of the history of V.P. debates. They don't have much effect on the polls.

If this is one of the few times they do and it works to our benefit, that's great. But DavidN3600 is right that we won't be able to overtake Romney nationally until OBAMA delivers.

from the President.

The final debate will be the knockout blow.

sorry you're so concerned, but throwing cold water on people who choose to be positive
doesn't do anyone any good. You're either with us or against us.

10. Not what I'm doing

And I have several threads on this board right now on how to defeat Romney.

It's the way I would bring the Obama Campaign to victory if I was running it.

For one thing, there's the Supreme Court. As I said, it's the women's vote that will determine the election. Joe Biden was smart and brought up the issue last night.

The idea of a 'Romney Supreme Court' needs to get out there to moderates, particularly women. Many of them were persuaded last week into feeling comfortable voting for Moderate Mitt. As Biden said, they need to realize Robert Bork is Mitt's Legal Adviser is the type of person who will be on the Court.

You might want to re-think that line if you know what I mean. Particularly given your screen ID.

And if that one doesn't yield a bump, we will say, "chill out! these polls don't include the 3rd debate!"

If that does not produce a bump, there will be the jobs report, for which we will have to wait if the unemployment rate goes up.

sorry don't know how to post a screenshot, but if you zoom into the TPM Polltraker you can see Romney leveling off and Obama juuuust starting an uptick. I think this is an indication that Romney's bounce is subsiding, but as you point out it will take a few more days, maybe a week, to fully determine that. Plus, it is up to the President to follow Biden's excellent debate performance with one of his own:

by monday, we'll see the "Biden Bump" which will be a big set up
for the President to knock Romney on his ass on Tuesday.
and by next weekend we'll see a big swing in the polls from
where they are TODAY.

after last week's debate. Oh how they splashed around their quick polls and informal surveys, it was quite impressive. But this time? Well let's see, now it's Friday, and by Monday the veep debate will be ahem, forgotten.

And frankly I don't think we'll ever hear about any bump caused by Biden's victory or anything else from here on out.

this time however, like after the DNC, it will take a few days for the bump to show.

there is a double standard.

the president gets criticized if he looks down, if he looks up, if he smiles, etc.
romney smirked and interrupted continuously and HE was declared the winner
even after all of romney's proven lies.. 27 of them in 39 minutes.

this time, BIDEN gets critized for doing the very same thing romney did
and the republicans are crying and whining as if he did something against
the rules. jesus! what will they do when chris christie is on stage in
four years in the republican primary debates? do they think he is going
to play nice and not hold his ground? what hypocrital children.

no more good news in primetime about Obama/Biden, period, and extra points for lies that stick. Kind of like in 2000 and 2004, but this time, I don't think it will have any effect on voting, although that, too, can be adjusted if necessary, and probably will be in some states. Whether they can adjust it enough to produce a credible RR win is a question. Right now I tend to think it can't.
