I had lunch today with Two Republicans---Update

Last edited Tue Mar 1, 2016, 07:06 PM - Edit history (2)

One was already disgusted with the Republican choices and said he was considering voting for Bernie. I laid out some of Bernie's positions and by the end of lunch he declared he was pulling a Democratic ballot today and would vote for Bernie. Together we convinced the other one to do the same.

This is in Tennessee. You are allowed to ask for either a Democratic or Republican ballot in the primary.

I'll add myself, my wife and my oldest son when I get off work and go to my polling location.

5 more votes for Bernie.

Update. I just got back from voting.

The longest line I have ever seen at my polling location. The line tripled in size from when I got in the line to when I finished. Took about 25 minutes to get through the line to the front.

My suburb is about 80% republican. There were only two types of signs out front, Trump and Bernie.

This is also the first time I made the front page of DU.

Be sure to also tell him to pull the lever for Hillary if Bernie isn't the nominee.

Thank you in advance.

I'll probably have to work on him for that. He is pretty anti-establishment right now.

Seems some who have been snarking on Bernie and his supporters nonstop are now coming to the realization that many if not most will write in Bernie before voting for Clinton. They seem to be getting a bit concerned now.

are far more scared of Bernie than they are of any repig. Because Bernie means the beginning of the end of their gravy train.

Republicans to lunch and vote. Or maybe offer to bribe a carload of kids to vote. With wages what they are for so many these days, "drinks" and dinner at McDonald's might be enticing to many.

Although I doubt that he will vote for Bernie today, I have a Republican friend in Georgia who says that he respects Sanders.
