2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumWhat stage are Bernie supporters in?
five stages are denial, anger, bargaining, depression and acceptance.
I see quite a bit of anger here.

She's in it for herself.

(72,790 posts)I've said little bad against supporters because supporters can say whatever they want to. I try to criticize the candidate, not the supporters.
Only did here because I was trying to make a funny.

It's the DNC's fault, it's the MSM's fault, it's DWS's fault, it's HRC's fault, it's Bill's fault, it's the debate schedule's fault, it's the debate moderators' fault, it's the Hillary supporters' fault - it's pretty much everybody on the planet's fault - everyone but Bernie, of course.

(6,719 posts)We return Dem survey forms with a note explaining why we do not trust the DNC, we vote Bernie in primaries and then change our registration to Independent and plan to write-in Bernie in the GE, we laugh when we are phone banked for Clinton and tell the callers this is still a democracy and we are allowed to vote as we wish.
Yes, we have flashes of anger and disgust when we see what DWS is doing. But we do not accept Bill using a megaphone in front of a polling place in violation of ethics and the law. That brings out hard core reporting and maybe a few law suits.
Bernie supporters are very realistic.

(6,719 posts)and the parties look at the votes and where the support is -- or isn't. I did not mean Bernie would win the hot seat. I meant that I have the right to vote as I choose and that it will be noticed. Clinton will be running for her second term the day she is sworn in. She will care about where she has support and there she does not. And with DWS out of the DNC -- there will be lots of second thots. The DNC had turned off a lot of people.

(13,889 posts)You couldn't even take a few minutes to try to look that information up, and I'll bet money that you won't bother to do so the day after the election in November either. You like saying that voting for the outsider is going to make a difference, but you can't be bothered to invest any of your time in researching the facts behind your claim. Not a winning approach.

(1,773 posts)Hillary would have NEVER, *EVER* changed the conversation on her own....if it were up to her, she'd walk right into the Whitehouse and start moving her things in yesterday.
But, no, she has to go through this annoying, pesky primary, voting by the people, thing, to gain her rightful power.
In the meantime....she'll say whatever Bernie's says...minus any actual policy or disruption of the corporate class.

Hillary ignored Bernie.
Then she laughed.

(3,447 posts)I accept that the people who claim to inhabit 'the Democratic Party (tm)' are not, in any way, actually concerned about the issues they claim to be concerned about and are, instead, merely concerned with their own financial status. That is understandable.
It's the way of cowards.
But perhaps the people who created the 'Stages' chart should be more honest about it. It assumes that there are 5 (7 sometimes) stages, but it does not realize that there are more possible alternatives than simply those. So yes, I'm in Acceptance.
It is not the 'Acceptance' that the OP thinks it is, however.
Congratulations on your victory. I sincerely hope it brings you everything you voted for.
deutsey
(20,166 posts)would do everything in their power to marginalize Bernie and his message.
My biggest surprise, however, has been that despite things being rigged against him, Bernie's campaign has resonated so widely and deeply with people and has managed to give the establishment a serious run for its ample money.
If this primary ends the way I've assumed it would, Bernie and none of us who support him have absolutely nothing to be ashamed of. Just the opposite, in fact.
On edit: To quote a famous socialist...Don't mourn. Organize.
monicaangela
(1,508 posts)That concept is this. No matter who wins the primary on either side, we continue on. If we continue with Bernie in the White House excellent, if not, we continue the effort with Bernie in the Senate, but this is not about Bernie, it is about us and we will be there for this revolution which is sorely needed in this country. So, as I see it, we don't fit into any of those "stages" you have so eagerly posted.

(81 posts)I just think that's sad that large numbers of people voting in tonight's primaries don't see that we don't have to settle for a lesser evil. But I still have hope. It's premature for anyone to start claiming inevitability. If this were a baseball game, it would be in the 3rd inning now. As Yogi Berra said, "It ain't over 'til it's over."

(8,090 posts)are clobbering Hillary. Didn't expect anything from the South, so no disappointment there. Not surprised that Massachusetts is so close. Not surprised at Virginia either -- lots of AAs and huge military/government contractor presence. And unlike Al Gore, Bernie is carrying his own state, so no disappointment there. They sure don't like Hillary in Oklahoma, do they! Hmm, Tennessee. I will say I'm a bit surprised at Tennessee -- why so pro-Hillary?
I thought Alaska was today also. When the hell's Alaska?
Think that covers it. Oops, Texas. Not surprised at results I'm seeing there, either.
