2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumI wanted to share a photo at which I cannot stop staring
In each campaign there are moments of deep clarity, moments that seem to encapsulate the hopes and dreams of a nation (?) , that are luckily caught by a fortunately placed photographer. I believe this is one of those photos. I hope you agree.

(11,945 posts)If the latter (which seems more in keeping with Clinton and some supporters), then the system is rigged and they'll ignore the petition.
This is how Clinton plans to win. Rigged systems. Rigged DNC, rigged officials, bought-off endorsements.
The "establishment" takes care of its own. It's a wonder Bernie has done as well as he has.
I hope I'm wrong.

I don't support Hillary but I do have some sympathy for her as to what it must be like trying to keep him under better control this campaign season. I can't imagine she is pleased with this stunt as it probably didn't get her one vote but it did enrage a lot of people whose votes she will need if she is the nominee. It was a really foolish and selfish thing to do.

Getting a picture like that is WORTH the price of him gumming up the works at the polling places.
This is karma. Pure karma coming back to Bill Clinton ten fold.
This pictures FOREVER defines his underhanded antics, but it also says so, so much more. The bullhorn. The sign. His crossed eyes. Not one person in that picture looks happy. He looks creepy and devious. And that bad brown suit and red tie makes him look like an escapee from Shady Acres Retirement Home.

(872 posts)When I volunteered in Jesse Jackson's campaign, I was a poll watcher. But that was in a Northern state, and it was only because the powers that be in the campaign wanted it. In the South, I would certainly understand it. In that state, unlikely to be necessary.

(14,327 posts)The bullhorn effectively erases any 150 foot boundary, so maybe he thinks he skirted the law depending on where he was standing. But entering polling places shows arrogance and contempt for the voters. If he blocked traffic or access to the polls, that is unconscionable.
I defended Clinton in print about his perjury in a personal witch hunt, but I cannot defend this.
Most people get Star struck. And it helps if even some cop there was like WTF to Clinton, that person would have to be some one who did not mind losing his job as a cop. Because the Mayor was leading Slick Willy around

After his exit from the US Senate, Phil Gramm found a job at Swiss bank UBS as vice chairman. He later brought on former President Bill Clinton. What a coincidence, they are the two key figures in repealing Glass-Steagal. Since the New Deal it was the financial regulation that protected the US taxpayer from the Wall Street casino. Oh well, what's a $16 trillion bailout among friends?
