2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumThe coordinated effort by all media
today to proclaim Bernie finished and that people just aren't buying what he's selling is so blatant and so ugly - the magnitude of the dragon Bernie has bravely set out to slay - is truly remarkable.
This whole election is a sham. The people need fair elections and they aren't getting one. The media is in the bag for Clinton and that is quite an unfair advantage.
Bernie is the only hope for the future of this nation. If, God forbid, he fails, then who will be our champion?
If Hillary wins the people lose anyway.
If Bernie fails I think we are in extreme danger of losing our basic rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
I cannot put my trust in Clinton and Warren stayed on the sidelines too long to matter.
If not Bernie than who? I think it is Bernie or bust. The only other person I could think of would be. ..Al Gore because - the environment.
What a sad state we are in - Thanks Nixon. Thanks Reagan, Thanks Bush, Thanks Bullhorn Bill, and Shrub. Obama did much good except for the atrocity of the TPP. That single item has sold us all down the river.
The future ain't what it used to be.

(1,252 posts)and I am entitled to mine. I believe that is what this forum is all about but maybe you are so much smarter. Maybe you can tell me why Bernie fills stadiums and Hillary plays to empty rooms? Sorry I don't buy the propaganda media.

(1,252 posts)I am feeling particularly uppity today.

(58,402 posts)populist message because they knew he stood the best chance of weakening Bernie's progressive populist message particularly if they blacked out coverage of Bernie and his message keeping the American People in the dark (which they did for most all of last year) especially compared to their infatuated fawning over Trump 24/7.
Schultz's DNC was happy to play along with this by greatly limiting debates and scheduling them for when they would least likely be viewed by the people.
All of the above was done to protect Hillary and her greater name recognition letting Clinton coast to the nomination but the rise of Trump and much greater turnout by the Republicans are a direct result of this media malpractice.

(1,252 posts)But the stadiums full of people at Bernie rallies compared to the empty rooms Hillary plays at show the truth. The Media is lying to us. They have been complicit for many years. I remember in 2000 during the entire election cycle they placed Bush's name above Gore's in every headline. They said "Bush does this" and "Gore TRYS this" inserting editorial bias at every turn. Even with all that they couldn't rob him of the popular vote and had to rig the end game.
It is happening again.

(58,402 posts)the case for the Republicans first and they spend the lion's share of airtime on that party.
When panelists start making good points against media malpractice in elevating Trump as Katrina Vanden Heuval did earlier this evening, they're more likely to get cut off or interrupted as Anderson Cooper did without acknowledging her point.
Although one other panelist did, Gloria Borger in this case but then it's almost immediately forgotten and they go back to covering Trump and how the Republican Party hates him because he's "anti-establishment.
The corporate media conglomerates are the gate keepers to the establishment and I have no doubt that a President Trump would never upset the less than 1% status quo domination of the government and in turn the people.
The corporate media conglomerates know this so they play up the "anti-establishment" myth to keep the plebes fooled while ignoring or dismissing the very real and substantive arguments that Bernie makes against the establishment.
