With the Republican presidential primary devolving into a Jerry Springer episode shot on location at the Thunderdome, its easy to forget the sundry internal dramas playing out among Democrats. While theres an obvious split between the Obama coalition that largely supports Hillary Clinton and the progressiver-than-thou wing that supports Bernie Sanders, there now appears to be a schism-within-a-schism developing between Sanders supporters and progressive saint Senator Elizabeth Warren.
At issue is Warrens failure to endorse Bernie Sanders ahead of Super Tuesday, which supporters feel could have delivered Sanders a victory in the closely-fought Massachusetts primary. RawStorys TBogg collected some Bernie fans reactions from Warrens Facebook page:
<...>
Sen Warren let all of the progressives down and the country by not endorsing us before Super Tuesday. With her help, we could have and should have won Mass. Why and what does she have up her sleeve???
Karl Roves money? Are you smoking crack? I love Elizabeth and would have supported her over Bernie had she chose to run, but I am deeply disappointed in her for not supporting Bernie when it mattered. She will lose ALL credibility if she supports Hillary at any point as Shillary is tied to Wall Street.

(135,425 posts)I suspect she's going to give her vote to the winner of the MA primary. Had it been Sanders, he would have gotten it. But he didn't win. So she'll probably give it to HRC.
She's not the only super to have played it this way.
Of course, we won't know until she says.
Gotta say, she's got some Fair Weather Fans, doesn't she?

(135,425 posts)I am responding to the thread starter, not you.
And accusing me of "inflating probable BS?" Who died and made YOU the arbiter of what is factual and what is not? The person doing the "inflating" --to say nothing of instigating--here isn't me. It's you, with your spurious and unfounded accusations.
Tell ya what--you can research this yourself. You can go to the fb page in question, here:
https://www.facebook.com/ElizabethWarren/posts/10153551144658687
and then you can click on the links to the pages of the people protesting, and you can find out where their loyalties lie.
You might not like the results.

Maybe you should visit the fb page and the pages of the people making the comments before you start lecturing people you don't even know.

No need to "wise up." Just pull that string. The first three I pulled led back to what appear, to my eye, to be COMMITTED Sanders supporters.
YMMV.

(61,700 posts)We've been told all week that this attack on Elizabeth Warren is really a false flag operation by the Clinton people. That would be very difficult to achieve on FB, and really, why bother?
The likely truth is that these are Sanders supporters bullying Warren. If you don't think that's a good campaign strategy, talk to your candidate.

(24,411 posts)Bernie Sanders supporters, as a whole, support Elizabeth Warren and love Elizabeth Warren.
If there are authentic Bernie supporters doing this, they are outliers.
Every candidates has supporters who say incendiary things on the Internet. The comments of a few--out of millions--should not paint all of Sanders supporters.
And you perpetuating this...is not cool.
First it was BernieBros (name calling) and now this.

(14,255 posts)What does that have to do with supporting Hillary over Bernie?
Like my thought process would be - oh, I hate war and fracking and cluster bombs and the TPP and increased H-1B visas and outrageous college debt, and Hillary is FOR all of those - BUT - I am told Bernie's supporters are being mean to someone on facebook! So I will just forget about all that war, etc. stuff, and support Hillary!
I hope to fuck that if I ever did do or say something like that, my family would just pull the plug, because I would have to be in some stage of dementia.

I think that anyone who believes that this is a Clinton plot needs to get a grip. This was a few jerks who are so blinded by their loyalty to Sanders that they think it "helps" to beat up on Warren, or "blame" her for Sanders losing MA. And that is what some of the people who visited her page are doing. There has been pushback against it by both Sanders and Clinton supporters since the story broke, but if you dig down, you can see that these are NOT "invented" web pages. Unless some of them were invented five, six, eight years ago. Gee, that's a DEEP conspiracy, there!
There's no upside to this devious master plan that some are imagining. If you have money to spend, you spend it on more sensible things than that.
smh.

(4,407 posts)Hillary has done some nasty-ass things this campaign, so I have a hard time putting it past her to hire either of these groups. I smell a rat, and I think it farted.

(135,425 posts)coming at me for responding to the thread starter (who wasn't YOU).
You've got a lot of nerve, running around trying to tell people what they are "allowed" to talk about. No one died and made you boss.
And if that's "fake mud," then Tough Mudder could run a race in it. And it's all YOUR team. Deal with it.
Maybe this time you'll mean it when you say farewell to me--you've done that twice in this thread alone.

(16,685 posts)If some idiots are trying to harass Elizabeth Warren about this she'll survive. She's a politician...she has thick skin. I'm glad she hasn't endorsed anyone. And if she endorsed Hillary tomorrow I would question her judgement on the matter but still regard her with a tremendous amount of respect. Endorsements have little to no influence on me.
