Response to "this is not what a recovery looks like"

Mitt Romney & Paul Ryan, as well as the right-wing echo-chamber have used this line with NO push-back, they've also succeeded with saying that democrats had a majority for 2 years and didn't do a thing.

Here's what I believe someone from the Obama team needs to say to these lame attacks ....

1. This is not what any previous reccessions have looked like either, Henry Paulsen told George W. Bush that unless immediate and drastic steps were taken the U.S. economy could collapse, he didn't say SLOW DOWN as is the case in most recessions, the step into a full blown depression were very few back in 2008.

2. When Barack Obama took office, the top priorities were stabilzing our financial markets and saving the U.S. auto industry from ceasing to exist, those things got done over the period that republicans point to as a time when Obama got nothing done. Then to add... the efforts the administration were enaged in to pass the Affordable Care Act as well as winding down the war in Iraq. Obama not only encountered a unified GOP obstruction where the slogan was "no compromise" he also had a number of "blue-dogs" that didn't make things smooth and easy.

But my main point is that it should be an instant response from democrats to remind the naysayers that this is NO NORMAL RECESSION.

It took a republican administration 8 years with nearly 100% support coming from the current GOP leadership that also included Paul Ryan to create this mess, their main argument against Barack Obama is that he's had enough time to fix it.
