2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumSoooooooo Tired of Hearing About Trump
In the last few weeks, I've gone from "holy shit, this guy is scary; he is just like Mussolini" to "oh my god, shut the fuck up about this guy". Every website, every news program, every time I try to see what is happening in the Democratic primary, everything turns to Trump. I get it, he's evil and a fascist and he sounds like a mix of a middle school bully and my racist grandma, but can someone please talk about something else?!
But the gluten for punishment in me does wonder, if Trump's downfall won't be from saying 10 billion stupid/racist/delusional things during his quasi-Klan rallies but if by the time we get to a year and a half of wall to wall Trump coverage in the fall, if people will just be fatigued of him. I wonder if the nation will collectively go from being amused to being shocked to being scared to saying "is that guy still talking?".
I am starting to think, maybe this guy doesn't go out with a bang but with a whimper.
