2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumCall me a Sunshine-and-Pony optimist, but~
I think when the majority of people go to the polls, or cast their ballots, they are going to REMEMBER.
They are going to REMEMBER that Mitt Romney characterized 47% of Americans as irresponsible leeches.
They are going to REMEMBER that he won't release his tax returns.
That he cut American jobs to outsource to China.
That he has his wealth hidden in offshore accounts (he believes in America!!)
That he favors tax cuts for the rich.
That he has flip-flopped and lied probably more than any Republican candidate in modern history.
That he wants to demolish Social Security and Medicare.
That he thinks people don't suffer and die for want of health care.
That his wife referred to Americans as, "you people."
That he really doesn't give a damn about our military personnel and our veterans.
That his tax plan has been panned and criticized by countless sources.
That he wanted to let the auto industry go bankrupt.
I think on election night, we will see the electoral map go blue, with maybe even a surprise state or two!

(2,404 posts)I think Obama has shown us a vision of a positive future. I'm "hoping" people vote Obama because he is the best man for the job.
And I'm not going to split hairs about why some people will vote Obama. His die-hard supporters see all the good he has done. If people who are not 100% behind him vote for him because they likesome of what he has done, and see he is a good man who is best for this country, or they vote for him because they see that Romney is a walking disaster, fine.
Reality is not perfect. So yeah, if someone votes Obama because they are voting against Romney, I'll take it. Ideal? No. But hell better than a vote for Romney.
