RV/LV, Democratic Enthusiasm, and Trolls

Polls are showing that, nationally, Obama is slightly ahead in RV/registered voters and slightly behind Romney in LV/likely voters.

What that is showing is the difference in enthusiasm between the respective bases.

What are you doing to improve Democratic enthusiasm and morale? Are you working in the campaign? Are you donating time or money? Are you posting encouraging messages?

Or are you posting doom-and-gloom, defeatist stuff quoting right-leaning polls?

Joe Biden did his job, and Barack Obama will do his on Tuesday. I'm certain of it.

What are you doing to help them? At the very least, DON'T FEED THE TROLLS. If you find that you can only think of negative things to post, don't post at all.

depress the vote then they don't vote, then they win and don't need to steal it (like 2010)
where they didn't win, we lost by not voting (but I myself did vote having never missed any election big or small in my life).

Obama voters are voting early voting by at least 2 to 1. Yeah, they're sure "discouraged", aren't they?

Is not simply an issue of "enthusiasm" There are several questions asked by the pollsters in order to determine your likelihood of voting.
A few of those questions have to do with whether you voted in 2008 and 2010...If you answer no to either they decide you're less likely to vote. Now we know from bitter experience that Democrats are less likely to have voted in any off-year election and 2010 was no exception. We have out-registered new voters in all of the swing states and we have a larger percentage of households with no landline phones so many are never polled... I'm not worried about the "likely voter" nonsense.

I'm not worried about the LV thing too much either. The race is tight, but I always expected it to be so.

I'm just getting tired of the defeatists.

In my opinion, the greatest danger to the well-being of the United States are the radical rightwingers who have taken over the once-respectable GOP. I take politics VERY seriously. And I take it very seriously when I come here every day and see defeatists and trolls trying to drag down Democratic morale.

I'm working for the campaign, I'm donating money, and the stuff I post on FB is informational stuff showing the things Obama has done well, and where Romney is inconsistent, lying, and just plain wrong.

This evening I'm going to a GOTV training meeting at our local OFA office.
