Maybe it won't matter because OFA spent a lot in Ohio to begin with and it seems like they've already framed Romney as the bastard he is there.

ANYONE who could be lulled into the idea that bush2 ideas should be tried again - after what we lived through during the first decade of this century - deserves what they get. The only problem with that is - what they get, WE get, too. And WE know better, and WE remember, and WE DON'T WANT ANY PART OF IT!!!!!

I hold out little hope for this country, what with;
- Citizens United
- Koch Industries intimidation of workers
- demonization of government, unions and civil servants
- the Bush years with its lies and wars
- proprietary e-voting aka vapor ballots
- the corporate media
- the ignorance, short memory and racism of a considerable portion of the American populace who do indeed deserve what they get

So glad I am over 55, but worry about my son, nephew, niece and their children.

when I consider that anyone younger than 55 - even if by ONE DAY - is gonna get hosed. And you think they're gonna be inclined to respect their elders or care for our needs if THAT happens? Not in this day and age, when everyone's encouraged to be greedy and selfish, and those who've done the most of it are lionized, admired, emulated, and damn near canonized.

Glad you're here! There are so many new DUers here (or those with low post counts) that sometimes I don't remember who I welcomed already!

Anyway, we need you - whether I told you that already or not! Glad you're not one of the gullible many - who have short memories and can be sweet-talked into anything by anybody.

Now get to work.

I don't really think these ads will have a huge effect as this is the time of year people are disgusted with attack ads.

I'm not sure what the connection is, but that's the way it's been. Other than the two rich houses and the bigot's house in our neighborhood, the only other house with rMoney signs out is our local sports freak. He hangs an Eagles flag on the 4th instead of an American flag. I hang the American flag.

Not all, but large majority. In NC, white males are the primary demographic and they are mostly GOP. I post on the wral sports blogs, and that group is probably 80% GOP. The State fans a little more, the Carolina ones a little less, but majority GOP all around.

And it's just dumb. It sounds so elitist.
My whole family are left of left and we are all sports nuts. My daughter even plays on a women's tackle football team.

Damn near anyone NASCAR is GOP. Ping pong is sort of a liberal thing. My wife and daughters are all blackbelts, so you could say that's "sports", but they're all liberals. They're just in the minority. And bully for your daughter to play tackle football! That's awesome!

But the "jock" I referred to openly berates black athletes. He doesn't make other racist comments (unlike the neighbor across the street), but he just doesn't like black or even Hispanic athletes. He's made it clear that the NFL is unfair to whites and favors blacks without considering the fact that it MIGHT just have something to do with the specific individuals being better at the game. He doesn't say it in those terms, just using names, but it is pretty transparent.

No offense to you and your family, but just out of curiosity, how many fellow sports fans of yours are right wing?

Why is he flooding the airwaves with ads?

I thought it was already supposed to be over in NC! And yet, there's Romney, spending money on an already won race rather than sending it to Ohio or something. How very weird, since NC is such a lock.
