(58,785 posts)They were colleagues for a long time. Note that liberals tend to be eyes-open to faults in friends and to virtues in people we don't like. We don't insist on seeing friends as all good and imagining opponents as all bad. This is a major clue to who is liberal in personality on this forum and who is some other type.
As in IMO Bernie's okay, just not nearly as good as Hillary.

(3,411 posts)Hillary is substantially more artful at playing politics than Bernie. Her disingenuous nature and ability to lie is what we need for the Democrats to win the general election. I'm done with Bernie, he is simply too authentic -- Not made for politics! So let us all vote for that lying closeted homophobic racist and plutocratic neocon, so that she can represent her lobbyists and keep the status quo for her corporate donors, who also pays her millions to give her secretive world-shaking speeches that she guards with way more effort than sensitive government documents.
in case it's needed!
Tell me please, when you posted that ... did you get a little frisson all over, thinking that you were being oh-so-clever?

In fact, I welcome people to look up the phrase on DU-'OK mostly white' to find Hillary supporters who obviously don't grasp demographics and who do not seem to count the Native Americans....

(14,255 posts)Only three are required, but when I see the extra periods, I always think "Oh! This is serious shit! I had better re-examine my abhorrence of war and fracking and cluster bombs, and such, because - ellipsis!" Or ellipses - I dunno, does using more than three periods make it plural? Must research!

(45,319 posts)whom I used to like personally and support politically who alienated me by preaching against my rights as a gay person, something Barney is always willing to compromise around.
Like the HRC, Barney supported the non inclusive ENDA, meaning he favored denying protections to transgender people in order to get protections for gay people. Alienation of a large number of the people they claim as constituents, and both Barney and HRC have spent years trying to win back the trust of the people they betrayed.
Hillary folks think they support LGBT but the support the Established A-List Gays, not the transgender community and not the youth, not the poor nor the middle class. HRC took an endorsement vote from their Board of 30-that is precisely how equitable and democratic they are

(45,319 posts)following link, "Lets be Frank About Barney Frank and ENDA"
Early Fall 2014, the LGBT political community seems to be getting its inclusive act together, gay Republican marriage equality donors have been pushing for an inclusive ENDA and HRCs new president Chad Griffin makes a historic apology to the transgender community over the ENDA Debacle of 2007 speaking at the Southern Comfort Conference in September 2014, and backs his apology with HRCs encouraging actions to accompany their words of transgender inclusion, Barney Frank comes out of his retirement to throw grease on a long burning fire that had cooled down below a simmer.

This charge of 'alienating' people is thick, rich and hotly ironic coming from Barney Banks.....
