Obama’s Prep Session Goal: Don’t Repeat Mistakes of Last Debate

The president and his aides were clearly taking debate prep far more seriously this time around. Mr. Obama has scheduled more time, and his aides say that they will try to keep interruptions to a minimum. He is on a resort with not one, but three, golf courses, but he did not bring his clubs and had no plans to hit the links. There will not be any visits to historic sites (he was criticized for going to the Hoover Dam when he was supposed to be studying for the last debate, in Denver); his sole off-campus excursion on Sunday took only half an hour. It was to a campaign field office here where he made a few phone calls to volunteers, delivered pizza to staff members, and pronounced his debate prep as “going great” in answer to a shouted question from a reporter.

This time, instead of focusing on the nuts and bolts of debate facts — no one thinks the president needs to bone up on American troop withdrawals from Afghanistan’s Korengal Valley, for instance — Mr. Obama is practicing how to challenge Mr. Romney, something he inexplicably shied away from in Denver on Oct. 3.

“This isn’t a guy who needs be grilled on facts,” one Obama aide said of the president. “What he needs to work on is stylistic.” Translation: how to accuse Mr. Romney of twisting the facts without seeming rude.

I almost think Obama is a shoo-in to win the debate, at least as far as pundits go. They want ratings, and if they throw everything to Mitt again, the storywill be, "It's over."

They need the story to be, "It all comes down to the last debate so everyone tune in or we won't make enough money!"

IF President Obama fails to defend a non-supply side, ‘non- trickle down’ position then he loses. Trickle down has been disastrous for the middle class for 30 years yet Mitt says the Middle Class hurt it is because of Obama actions in the last 3. Dark clouds in our non global economic situation (setting aside really really stupid wars) all come from the seeds of trickle down failure. Yet republicans state Tax Cuts and Job Creators make the world go -round and ‘our-side’ folds.

Lately their argument is so ‘In-our-face’ as to say even JFK knew to cut taxes ...... and democratic are unable to respond. The 'JFK did it' has been floated by Ryan (vp debate), O’Rielly, Limbaugh. It was on FTN and MTP. (Obviously RNC trying to connect two good looking white guys that’ think alike’).

JFK’s 'piece time dividend' came after the Greatest Generation paid for WWII dropping the Top Rate off of 91%. They had paid for their war. Those short on these facts don't know history, economics or economic history. Love VP Bidden but instead of ‘Now you’re Jack Kennedy’ he could have carved a permanent ‘L’ in Ryan's forehead. President Obama needs to carve into the soft underbelly of republican policy.

Trickle down is a cruel joke against most all Americans. Corporate profits in the last few years now account for the largest share of gross domestic product since 1950 — 12.6% (a little off in 2012). Wages and salaries account for the smallest share of GDP since 1955 — 54.9%. CEO (as in Job Creators) Pay Grew 127 Times Faster Than Worker Pay Over Last 30 Years: Federal spending is rising at the slowest pace since Dwight Eisenhower brought the Korean War to an end in the 1950s. 60% percent of the debt is bush's war and bush's trickle down ‘War Dividend’ that failed to trickle. As it was in 19 81 Mitts supply side tax cut is “ always a Trojan horse to bring down the top [tax] rate" for the wealthy.

This should not be hard. Do we need David Stockman in debate prep?.

He knows the job. He knows the facts. All he had to do was not let Romney LIE like a bad rug.

For the sake of the country, I hope he gets it right this time.
