Dear Bernie Supporters, I bear the responsibility of organizing Westchester County for Bernie Sanders. I am a volunteer, I have built my own Voter Database for the entire state of NY, added a million and a half phone numbers and shared this database with 8 upstate organizers back in October. We started making calls to Westchester County voters for Bernie back in November, well before the current Bernie Dialer was available.
I have hosted 40 Bernie events, 3 of them Barnstorms & crowd funding 10,000 pieces of Bernie Lit for my awesome volunteers. !0,000 pieces of professionally printed lit at a union print shop.Weve have established a presence at the Chappaqua train station since November, my awesome volunteers have been handing out this beautiful lit since December. And weve gotten some very nice press.
Our phone bankers have hosted nearly 40 phone banks since November, 27 of them from January 25th thru March 1st. Westchester 4 Bernie volunteers have made over 9,000 calls into early states.
In about 2 weeks I am going to send volunteer canvassers into Hillarys backyard, our first 3 target towns are Yonkers, New Rochelle and Chappaqua.
So many people in Westchester have asked me where they can get buttons, specifically Westchester 4 Bernie buttons. One volunteer (Anne) stepped up to organize this W4B button crowd fund that I am presenting to you, my fellow Bernie supporters.
I ask you my fellow DK Berniecrats, buy buttons for volunteers. Please donate as much as you can afford, and please share this dairy, getting massive numbers of eyes is the key to funding a project online and we need your help, all of you.
So heres the deal, the same union print shop that printed our lit, gave Anne a quote for 500, 3 inch buttons, we need $430 by March 21th, the deadline for the crowd fund.
Heres the link to the campaign page at bernspark.com
The FEC limits individuals expenditures to $1000, this is outside the $2700 max that one can donate to a candidate. SO this is a great way to help out Bernie volunteers if you have maxed out.
Any donation in excess of $60 gets a bernspark perk of 3 W4B buttons.
Please donate to give my awesome volunteers these very cool buttons.
Myself on the bottom left and Barry in the middle, and the Chappauq train platform sign in the background. Mid November 2015.

(22,271 posts)Every event we have, we put up a donations jar. We fund everything through those donations.

(13,211 posts)After hosting 40 Bernie events. But I didn't want to start getting active for Benie where no one knows me and also start asking for money.
I just don't think it would have gone over very well.

(22,271 posts)We just put out a big jar labeled "Donations" and let people donate as they will (or not). We've been holding events since July and we always have enough for union-produced fliers, our own Fresno Progressives for Bernie buttons, Bernie swag, swap meet tabling charges ($25.00), sign-making supplies and whatever else we need. We always seem to have what we need when we need it.

Having grown up in next-door Fairfield County, Conn., I can tell you that Mount Vernon, Port Chester and Sleepy Hollow (the former North Tarrytown, once home to a GM plant) would also be prime Bernie country. White Plains would be kind of purplish, so to speak.
