Attorney General Loretta Lynch on Colbert tonight (Thurs)
Anyone find it intriguing (and a tad odd) that Lynch will appear on Colbert tonight?
Yesterday, Lynch publicly responded (and seemed to admonish) the White House after White House spokesperson Josh Earnest said, "I know that some officials over there have said is that she is not a target of the investigation. So that does not seem to be the direction that its trending, but Im certainly not going to weigh in on a decision or in that process in any way. That is a decision to be made solely by independent prosecutors," Earnest said. "But, again, based on what we know from the Department of Justice, it does not seem to be headed in that direction."
Lynch responded with two points: 1.) That neither she or any DOJ investigator had briefed Earnest; that the White House needed to say silent during this ongoing investigation.
Essentially Lynch communicated: You do not know what is happening, so shut it.
I find it a bit surreal that Lynch will appear on Colbert.
As a Democrat, I'm very interested in the direction that this investigation is going. We have Clinton, a Democratic candidate for President--and we don't know if this email scandal is bluster that will soon dissipate; or if this is a very serious situation in which an indictment could happen. It's crazy that this amount of uncertainty swirls around our Democratic primary.
I hope that Lynch says something tonight that will give us a clue. At this point, our entire party needs closure on this. Of course, she's not going to discuss details of the investigation, but she's appearing on Colbert for a reason.
She obviously has something to say.
