2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumMarch Madness: Will HRC go to the 4 corners defense to run out the clock?
Has she built up enough of a cushion with her Southern Firewall to play keep away for the rest of the primary to squeak out a victory? Think I'd rather go into the GE with someone that's building support instead of circling the wagons.
Please add your favorite clichés or turn of phrase.

(38,437 posts)Originally this was my thought: Four corners pre-dated Jordan at UNC. Phil Ford was the point guard at UNC who made it work.
But, a bit of checking showed that Jordan's 1982 UNC team used the offense against Virginia to kill the seven straight minutes in the ACC championship game. The next year, ACC put in a shot clock.

(6,115 posts)Watching UNC playing in the ACC Tournament at the moment. Dean Smith developed the Four Corners offense in the early 1960s with players Larry Brown, Doug Moe, and Billy Cunningham.
I agree that the football analogy is probably better for Clinton's actions.
BTW Dean Smith was a very strong progressive: anti segregation, anti war, anti death penalty, and so much more. I believe that if he were still with us, Dean would likely support Sanders; in 2008, Smith endorsed Edwards, then Obama.

I believe that's her strategy. Bernie's strategy, too. We have a two-person primary race. A winner will be determined by the voters.
I'm content to wait to see how it plays out, and then I'll be in full support of our nominee. Isn't that how these things go? It always has been for me. We have primaries. We end up with a nominee. Then, we try to beat the Republicans in November.
There are a bunch of delegates up for grabs next Tuesday. Maybe we'll see something significant following those. I'm betting we do.
Why should this year be any different?

(23,664 posts)I think she has gone into the "prevent defense", bring an extra DB into the lineup to keep the opposition from completing a hail mary while allowing some shorter completions.
This ploy is almost never successful, btw.
