Who will the Democratic nominee be? We don't know.

We won't know for a while yet. However we will have one. It might be Hillary Clinton. It might be Bernie Sanders. The voters will decide.

Frankly, I'd rather have a Democrat for President, starting in 2017. I'd prefer that very much, since I've seen the damage Republicans have done across the board when they are in power.

Some people prefer Bernie Sanders. Others prefer Hillary Clinton. In the end, one of them will be running against whatever Republican crawls out from under the clown car.

Here's what I'm not doing. I'm not calling either candidate ugly, vile names. I'm not suggesting that ugly things should happen to either of them. I'm not encouraging people not to vote for either of them if that person becomes the nominee. I'm not slamming either candidate with exaggerated, emotion-laden claims.

They are different. I have a preference. I will support the Democratic nominee following the primary season. I couldn't do that if I had referred to that nominee in a vicious, negative way. So, I won't do that. It's a bad idea. I might say that I agree more with one candidate than another. I might point out something that is a drawback of one or another or if I agree on their stated positions.

In the end, though, I will be voting for one of the two Democratic candidates. I will be campaigning for the nominee. I'd like to be consistent with my previous statements. Either will be worlds better than any of the Republicans. Of that I'm certain.

That's the pledge I make. I will refrain from ugly name-calling, insults and vile attacks against either candidate. That only makes sense.

That's my opinion.
