2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumYes, in the 2008 Dem primaries, I posted harsh things about Hillary.
It's easy to find them and re-post, but here's the thing. That was in 2008. That was before she gave a speech at the convention endorsing Obama when she could have burned the house down. She got over it. Obama got over it, and I got over it. It's called being a mature, adult human being. Why should I carry around hate when the guy that I supported forgave her and welcomed her into his cabinet. In fact, she has been more supportive of Obama since 2008 than Bernie Sanders has.
Forgiveness, reconciliation, learning to overcome differences in order to work together, these are all good life skills to have.

(35,446 posts)She eventually conceded. Endorsed Obama. She got over it. He got over it. I got over it.
Does that answer your question?

(25,699 posts)I don't see any sign that she got over it. She's worked to undermine him frequently. For his part, he's a politician who saw the value of stepping around the swamp.
I said a lot of harsh stuff against Clinton in 2008. And I'm saying it now too. because I mean every word of it. She's a bad candidate, she's a bad politician, and the more I see, the more i', certain she's full-on a bad person.

(3,660 posts)I don't hero-worship. I have principles. When the president does something wrong, I don't try to cover for it. I disagree with him on many things. If you can't see anything wrong with a president, then perhaps the fault is with you.
That's the diff with Hillary supporters, they seem to have a hero they worship. Bernie supporters back him because of his principles.

(3,660 posts)Plus, she would have had to if she had any hope of running again.

(45,319 posts)that's the price many are paying for wallowing in hyped up rhetoric that distracts from real business and does harm to the issues at hand. What do you want, free stuff? To say both one thing and the other, to have that cake and eat it too? Double standards for you?
You criticize other people for saying things about Hillary when you said much, much worse and that's just bogus hypocrisy.
Your words here are public record and I have a great memory. You should remember both things when deciding to make AIDS your partisan fodder.

(35,446 posts)My bad. I thought that's what Republicans do. Lock in their opinions forever.

(45,319 posts)honesty. You have chosen to present yourself as suitable and trustworthy judge on a very important issue you seek to dismiss that issue and so your consistency and credibility become valid to look at. You picked up this Reagan AIDS story as if you were an authority. I asked you questions you failed to answer. So I posted examples of the trashing you did to Hillary in 08 because it demonstrates how things you say are all about your momentary agenda and not about facts truth or what you will say later on.
Also, you whine and complain about people being critical of Hillary. Although you yourself denigrated her tirelessly and vilely. That's bogus hypocrisy.
Wow, The Hillary Hate Is Becoming Intense on this Forum
"Reads like Free Republic some times.
After Bernie won N.H., folks on this forum were starting to say that it was over for Hillary, and then she won NV and is way ahead in S.C. Now, the hate comes.
This is why progressivism is not further along in America. Progressives worship individual leaders, not causes. As a contrast, the GBLT community, the only truly successful progressive movement in the past 10 years, pursued a cause, not a particular leader. Marriage equality and the end of the military ban, were both successful without a major leader leading the way.
Tying up your hopes and dreams into one political campaign and then acting like petulant children when that particular leader fails sets back the progressive cause."
