2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumOh, I get it now re: Chicago protests.
I thought that Hillary supporters wanted to take credit for what happened. That is not even close to being it. The are actually afraid that the people there are going to vote for Bernie. They are afraid that those young people are activists and they are working together even if it only a small percent were Bernie supporters. I really don't know how many were or weren't. I am just happy they were there and they sent a message and that is "We will no longer tolerate violence against our communities."

Look at what they did! Spectacular. They just WALKED IN LIKE ANYONE ELSE, and then they were the MAJORITY. Not a surprise.

I wish that they had waited until Trump got there.
JackRiddler
(24,979 posts)This isn't a conspiracy (which in this context can work with about 30 at most). This is hundreds, thousands of people walking on in. They're not the Borg.

(8,760 posts)It wasn't purely spontaneous.
JackRiddler
(24,979 posts)Nothing like this could be spontaneous. But the pages are auto-organizing, as these things need to go, and that's an indicator of general mood.

(8,760 posts)All I am suggesting is that it would be cool to see Trump booed by a large crowd, and I would like to have seen an even larger crowd, and I wished that this crowd had waited until he arrived.
It wasn't a criticism of what was done tonight.

(9,688 posts)What in blazes is going on in this primary, where grossly generalized and most often negative (attack) opinions about "supporters" substitute for discussion about issues?
I can understand if some "pundit" paid by the likes of Brock does it. But why would so many get sucked in to the extent of copying the tactic?

(9,688 posts)can be responded to with a gross generalization about "Bernie supporters",
and if you're even remotely aware, as you say by "reading posts", you know that kind of shit has gotten out of hand a long time ago.
So why do it, when you must know it can't be right?

(62,276 posts)This makes no sense. I'm seeing unification on both Sanders and Clinton sides on this issue (though Reddit Sanders "supporters" appear to be waffling a tiny bit).
No one is sure who the people behind the protest were but it was probably people from all groups just statistically speaking.

(62,276 posts)I'm seeing Clinton and Sanders supporters cheering this activism.
I've seen zero posts suggesting that Clinton supporters are "afraid that the people there are going to vote for Bernie." Zero. This is totally out of no where.
