I'm surprised at the positive comments in the media

about Romney's "physicality." There were non-faux commentators saying that the way he "dominated" the stage looked Presidential.

I thought the way he followed Obama across the stage, invaded his space, and demanded Obama answer his questions (for example, about his pension) looked entitled, presumptuous, rude, condescending, and disrespectful. (But I was glad Romney did that because it showed his true personality for everyone to see.)

Is this a guy/gal thing? Are guys impressed when men behave that way? As a woman, I thought it was revolting -- and I assumed most neutral onlookers would also be put off.

And I can only speak for myself, but if someone were stalking, er, following me around like that, I'd be sorely tempted to turn around and punch him in his face. I probably wouldn't because then I'd be as bad as him, but the temptation would be there.
So to answer your question, no, I don't think it's a guy/gal thing.

I am not impressed with someone stalking another. (again). So I do not see it in an "alpha male" kind of way.

say Robme committed a major public speaking 'faux pas' by turning his back to the audience while he was ranting at the POTUS, multiple times.

I wish I could remember which show it was, but it was really interesting! She said Robme violated a lot of rules for public speaking, which tells me he was thrown off kilter!!!

... just to a tee. Anyone who is smart, has tried to explain things carefully, truthful and accurately, but had a ham-fister like Romney "dominate" the conversation recognized it.

The question is whether baser human nature will prevail, the ones who are always egging the bully on, commenting on how awesome it was, and secretly glad that someone else is the target of the bullying, or will moderates and intellectual conservatives, many of whom have had this type of personal experience, will have the courage to call Romney to call him out for a bully.

On the other hand, expect nothing less from the extreme right chicken-shits to do some chest-thumping over Mr. "in charge" Romney being "Presidential".

But seriously, how can anyone imagine Romney trying to manhandle Putin, Peres or even Hollande in a real foreign policy dialogue? They would go home and write off the US as a bunch of ham fists.

I can't believe that men see that as alpha when it's just plain rude and unattractive.

Maybe it is a gender thing. Well fine, Obama will get more of the female vote now.

I can only answer your question for myself, one male. Dominance behavior doesn't impress me. I'm voting for someone who has class, who is literate, worldly. Someone prepared to deal with the modern world, which is so different from even ten years ago. I've got no interest in neanderthalic posturing.

The pundits are so close to political figures that they don't always take a step back. They live inside the bubble and have group think syndrome sometimes.

Mitt is an uncomfortable person to me. Awkward, not confident in a good way. Demanding, spoiled and just plain strange. His mannerisms always seem calculated and false. Biden was just as aggressive in his debate but he is more of a genuine figure so it all came off as real and not fake. Mitt seemed to be told to go after Obama and get in his face. But frankly, the arguing with Obama made me cringe. It made Mittens look bad and I know I am not alone in that regard.

Here is Mitt arguing with Rick Perry in a debate during the primaries:

Like I said, awkward.

Obama stayed wonderfully calm but strong and forceful at last debate and I expect him to be even more forceful in the foreign policy debate in putting Romney in his place, without resorting to Romney's blustering rudeness.

James Lipton on Chris Matthews' show last night said that if roles were reversed and Obama were challenging a Pres. Romney, media and everyone would be appalled at such disrespectful behavior to the POTUS. Double standard at work.

They like being dominated by pols.

That's why they aren't pols themselves.

So they're naturally turned on when some jackhole like Romney waves his dick around.
