2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumIn all likelihood, Hillary Clinton’s lead will never be as large as it is right now.
So Hillary fans, bask in that lead while you have it. Bernie fans, get to work. We'll see who is left standing in Philly.

Land of Enchantment
(1,217 posts)and here is why:
She can't grow her base because she was sooooo well known at the start of this she had reached her maximum numbers.
She is losing her base because practically every point she has dropped percentage wise has gone to Bernie.
The millennials and the independents DO NOT support her and likely never will.
Look at the 'fracking' states that have yet to vote.
Look at the 'progressive' states that have yet to vote.
This is just beginning and we are in it for the Long Run.

(13,326 posts)One State that bothers me is New York. It has many delegates, and she will do too well in it when she does NOT deserve it. All she has is name recognition, you are right. But now there is time. There are many favorable states that come before New York, and in politics, a week is a lifetime. We shall see!

Agree on NY. I've read rural goes to B and density goes to H. Of course, all of her closest friends are in NYC and I have no doubt Wall Street friends are raising money for her like mad. Still, I think the northeast and west coast are strong for Bernie.

(7,393 posts)She still has some pretty huge states in the future that she should easily win. And don't discount the drop off in turnout for Bernie now that it's clear he isn't going to win. Especially in caucus states. They require a lot of time investment and if folks think he doesn't have a chance they won't do it -- especially the kids.
