It's really disturbing to equate Romney to George Washington in any fashion whatsoever. Sorry but that's how I feel. I loathe the scoundrel.

Back then a lot of conservatives were Dixiecrats. Today those Dixiecrats are Republicans.

...on BBC Radio earlier this week. The reason why people in portraits or the early days of photography didn't smile was ...1. they were ashamed of the condition of their rotten teeth, and 2. because a beaming grin could be construed in those days as a sign of madness ! It was only in the 1920's when Hollywood stars became known globally that smiling in a photograph became the norm. Nowadays, things have come full circle and a person is seen as somewhat strange if they DON'T put on a beaming grin. Poor Mitt - I hope he's not going mad...
