Related: About this forumRomney’s “binder full of women” story was a lie
It was one of the odder moments during last nights debate. In response to a question about why Romney was equivocal about supporting legislation advocating equal pay for women, Romney told a story about how he tried really hard to hire women when he was governor, and that he had womens groups put together binders full of women that he would use to hire from.
A lot of folks found the binders full of women comment a bit odd rhetorically, but even odder is the fact that the story now appears to be lets all say it together now a lie.

this seems not right.
this organization of women went to BOTH candidates and asked for a commitment to improve the ration of women in the administration, then presented Romney with the list of names after he got elected.
but, because he was REALLY ENTHUSIASTIC it somehow was his idea.
i will give credit for andrea mitchell making a half hearted attempted to note this does not make it romney's idea, but the r woman just steamrolled her on it and mitchell threw in the towel.
YES, as usual, romney was bald faced lying.
