I did hear that 70-80% of nationwide voting would be done by touchscreens or optical scanners.

All of which had shelf lives that expired several elections ago.

Don't be fooled by the presumed security of optical scanners though.

Though they do scan paper ballots, the vote tallying devices are notoriously insecure & highly hackable.

If the margin of victory is greater than 3-5 % (depending on the state regulations) the ballots are never scrutinized.

I noticed that vote totals were nearly 20% off the pre election polls in '04.

So I called the Secretary of State's office & inquired as to whether or not a citizen could survey the ballots.

I got a resounding "NO". So I asked what would happen to the ballots & was told they would be stored for 6 months then destroyed.

Our electoral integrity is truly a ruse.

They use touch screens.

There is also a paper trail.

The machine prints your ballot page by page.

You read it, make sure everything is correct, and hit print.

Repeat for every page.

I think it was 3 pages long this time.
