You can actually go to the North Carolina State Board of Elections and get specific up dates on voter registration numbers for each day. They also allow you to check your registration.

The North Carolina numbers are actually better than that. As of the 17th, the numbers for democrats was over 2,831,000. The Republicans had over 2,033,000. At the rate the Dems are increasing every day, they will soon increase that deficit by over 800,000 votes. In of the statistical data, that is noticeable, would be the increase in African american registration. Right now that total is over 100,000 votes than in 2008 of November on election Day. Another demographic that needs to be noted is the increase registration of Hispanic votes in North Carolina which tends to be Democratic. That has increased 75%. So that is a positive sign for Democrats.

Another thing that needs to be noted about North Carolina. African Americans are 22 percent of the entire population. Others are about 10-12 percent. That is 34 percent of the population. Obama got about 35% of the white vote in North Carolina. I think the total of the Electorate for whites were about 70-72 percent. That is predicted to drop below 70 percent because of population growth over the last four years and the increase of voting age eligibility for minorities, especially hispanics. Obama can get 32-34 percent of the white vote and still win North Carolina depending on getting out the vote among minorities. The high youth vote Obama got in North Carolina also included minority youths.

In Pennsylvania, you can only vote in the primaries if you belong to the party holding its primaries. If you are registered as an independent, you don't get to vote to select either party's nominee. So to screw with the process, a lot of Republicans register as Democrats so they can influence who gets the party's nomination (e.g., Sestak vs. Specter). Once the weaker candidate has been selected, of course they go to the polling place and vote Republican.

I know a few people who have done just that, and one of them IS A NUN!!!
