Have to admit, President has done a poor job of fighting the "We can do better" attacks...

He's let this slide in 1st two debates, ceding ground to Romney on this front. This is why Romney is constantly hitting him on his bullshit 5 point plan blah blah blah. While we all know it's a crap sandwich, contrast it to Obama's 5 point plan, which is what exactly? Anyone here can list it in 5 bullet points off top of their head? Even if you can, have you seen Obama beat this into the public psyche either in the debates or somewhere on the stump that's getting coverage?

Also plays into the "what are your plans for next 4 years" angle that honestly neither has really offered but the sitting President suffers from since when you don't offer that in a compelling way, your challenger just looks better in comparison. Especially when he's bashing you over the past 4 years plus throwing out a plan we've all heard before. Sucks but that's the reality.

Just look at what Romney's doing now after 2nd debate loss for him. He abandoned Libya talk and is now focused on "lack of a plan" from Obama. Where's the rebuttal for this? Obama could easily put Romney back on defensive with a bold idea that'll never happen but at least will show some plan for next 4 years. How about a national jobs program? How about raising minimum wage? How about a national retraining program for folks out of work to learn IT, the sciences, math, etc for the next generation of jobs? Pie in the sky, deficit busting programs all of them, but you know what, people will get excited about the faintest possibility.

All of this underpins Romney's ascent as much as Obama's shitty debate performance. Always remember the low info assholes who can't even tell you 3 things about either candidate use this shit to make their decisions. It makes them feel better that at least one person "appears" to have a plan. The details? Who gives a shit? Most folks eyes glaze over when you discuss their own fucking retirement plans, you think they're gonna penalize Romney because his tax plan is horseshit and that he's regurgitating the planks of the past 2 Republicans for national office?

Romney is "winning" the "future" argument right now. Don't think so? Check those polls showing Romney favored on economy, taxes, deficit, etc. Obama hasn't really figured out how to gain this ground back effectively IMO. I don't think he did a great job in the debate of going back at Romney over his record over the past 4 years and WHY it'll be different over next 4.

Obama still the fave and I know that's all anyone cares about right now, I just see this being a squeaker election, Obama eking out a small victory in EC, having no claim to a mandate and Republicans using that as even more reason to obstruct him in a 2nd term. Maybe that's all that matters to some here and if the economy improves markedly over the next 4 years no one will remember this and Obama's in the history books as one of the greats. I say a few Hail Mary's every night for this very scenario.

However, the fear should be 4 more years of slow growth they can pin on Democratic policies which kills our chances in 2016 and undercuts the demographic shifts that should make the WH/Senate/House ours for the next few decades. IMO, the USA is facing a structural headwind that will take decades to recover from and we're also experiencing the law of diminishing returns when it comes to how fast an economy can grow organically year over year. The go go days are gone, last 4 years might be the new normal. All empires go thru this eventually, we will be no different.

Kill me if you want, just show me how Obama's been offering a compelling , exciting vision for the future that I should be getting excited about as one of these low info, Walmart/waitress moms that only watches TV 1-2x a week and just heard about Romney 2-3 weeks ago.

Unemployment under 8%? Check!

Obamacare passed and people already benefitting from it? Check!
Housing market recovering? Check!
Etc., etc., etc.

"hasn't done". Besides typing screeds on an internet forum for Democrats, WTF are you "saying" and/or "doing"? Inform yourself, and get off your ass/computer and say what needs saying to persuadable voters. The president & his surrogates do the heavy lifting. If you want to get into the weeds and minutiae. This isn't about "HE". It's about "WE".

Stop complaining.

own way. The bitching and backbiting, at times, make me want to pull my hair out. People banging away on a keyboard on an internet forum, constantly complaining about what the president has or hasn't "said", turn my stomach.

As the president has said so many times: "This election isn't about me". I have never seen a time when all the heavy lifting has been so shifted to the top of our ticket. I rarely see any of our Reps on network teevee. Do they not get invited? People tend to forget that this president has a day job, and he can't be expected to "say" everything they think people should hear. "Why didn't he say _______"?
"When is he gonna talk about________"?

We Dems need to put our big boy & girl pantaloons on, and grow the fuck up.

So i'll spend all this time posting over 250 posts and threads just for trolling effect because I'm a closet conservative?

Do you people ever stop to smell the shit you shovel? Or is that no one calls you on it?

I understand the echo chamber you may have built around yourself makes it difficult to recognize there are LIBERAL DEMOCRATS that not only support the platform by wearing pom poms but by you know, actually trying to offer constructive criticism. You may disagree with my assessment and/or recommendations. That's fine, but this asinine "troll" name calling and putdowns just because I'm not toeing the party line 110% of the time is just lame juice and many people here drink it unfortunately.

Here are my liberal "credentials" if you need to check them:

- Born and raised Puerto Rican in Bronx NY
- Attended Columbia University, that bastion of conservative thought. Participated and was leader in 1996 takeover of campus HQ so we could get a Ethnic Studies department created.
- Live in South Florida now
- Voted Kerry and Obama and straight Democratic candidates and planks last two Presidential cycles and in 2010.
- Planning to volunteer locally in some capacity during final two weeks.

Do I pass the DU liberal test now? or do I need at least another 700 posts?

FOH...
