But at the same time there 7 day tracking poll shows Romney leading the President by 6 points MAKES SENSE RIGHT? http://www.gallup.com/poll/158069/women-swing-states-gender-specific-priorities.aspx

Now if you look at the women who view birth control / abortion as THE KEY issue, do you think more of them are moral Christian-conservatives who beleive a vote for Obama is a mortal sin and a ticket to hell, and are voting the issue not for themselves directly, but because of a moral/religious agenda, or are they going to be educated agnostic types who look at the big picture, regardless of whether they are personally pro-choice or pro-life (after all, they weigh, even if the federal law is changed, there will still be time to fight the fight over state abortion bans, but if our income drops, we will be out of our house next month).
The poll data I'd like to see on women is asking what role their own religious beliefs will have in their vote.
When you have a crisis, like four years of walking an economic tight-rope, I suspect you will find that women by and large are more likely to be the ones who look to "faith" for support and guidance. A guy who gets laid off after years of service is likely to say, "Thanks God, now GFY" and stop going to church. In other words, religious niceties are viewed as a luxury. But that same guy's wife is the one who is now going make church a #1 priority for herself and the kids on Sunday mornings, especially if they were on-again-off-again with religion in the past. Just a theory...

They say Obama leads by 6% among likely female voters, but Romney leads by 14% among likely male voters.
