(879 posts)I googled it and there is massive undervote (2-3%) in the presidential race because of this.

(1,014 posts)Right before we stepped up to get our ballots, the poll worker both told us and gave us a written statement telling us that you had to vote for the president separately even if you did straight party voting. It's not like they're not trying to help. She stood right there and said it over and over and over, loudly.

(3,440 posts)In Texas, the R's put out that notice (especially in Dem neighborhoods) but it isn't true. In Texas, straight ticket is straight ticket for everyone running. So some folks hear this and unwittingly overwrite/cancel out their presidential vote.
