I have seen several pundits saying Obama isn't going to get a bump from the second debate

Dan Rather was on with Rachel last night and he said Obama will get a very small 2% bump several others said he will get no bump nate silver hinted at this http://fivethirtyeight.blogs.nytimes.com/2012/10/16/no-guarantee-of-obama-rebound-in-second-debate/

Are the 33 electoral votes he needs to win outside of the 'sure thing' states.

I wonder how much it has to do with the time frame between the first and second debate versus the shorter time frame between the second and third.

I would hate to think--that after everything Romney has done both here and abroad--he could be so close to the Presidency. Are Americans stupid?
