2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumWe aren't as stupid as they think
We progressives proved to the establishment that we were listening when Obama ran. We heard him and chose him over the establishment candidate.
And now, we are showing them that we are not only listening but DISCRIMINATING now with Bernie running.
From a 4% in national polling against Hillary, to today where he tied her.
They have thrown everything at him and ignored him and swift boated him. . . but we keep coming.
And he STILL beats every GOP candidate in the head to head polls but MUCH LARGER margins than Hillary. And she doesn't beat them all in the head to head polls. And he is OUTRAISING her in donations.
We keep coming. . . . this is the rising tide that will lift ALL boats.

LOL, that seriously was his answer to a Chris Matthews' question about how his vision will play out in Washington if/when Sanders took office and had to persuade others to his viewpoints. I laughed.

R B Garr
(16,967 posts)She was nowhere around when Bernie couldn't even answer a basic question about how he envisioned a "revolution". Some things are actually Bernie's responsibility to articulate. Hillary hate can't get him through everything.
revbones
(3,660 posts)She couldn't even say she wouldn't lie - Bernie was nowhere around, and that was on her own.
R B Garr
(16,967 posts)that Bernie couldn't even articulate his vision of a "revolution".
Hillary had nothing to do with that.
Jury, I only said "juvenile" in response to the previous post which used the same word. Thank you.
revbones
(3,660 posts)I'd think there's a big difference between your not liking his explanation and Hillary being unable to say she wouldn't lie.
R B Garr
(16,967 posts)She wasn't there. Bernie is a lifelong politician and is responsible for himself. How desperate to spam about Hillary.

(3,660 posts)You are either joking, or perhaps have some issues.
You attempted to throw some dirt around in this thread, and I compared your comment to Hillary's inability to even say she would not lie.
Your inability to deal with that is rather telling.
R B Garr
(16,967 posts)Obviously didn't see the interview with Matthews and Sanders, but your only comment is some mumbo jumbo about Hillary.
Hillary wasn't there. Bernie is responsible for himself.
revbones
(3,660 posts)You commented about something Bernie said in the context of him stumbling. I replied with something Hillary said in a similar context.
I'm sorry you can't see the logic there.
R B Garr
(16,967 posts)"deflecting". You mentioned some bizarre tangential cryptic "lie" and "Hillary" and expect me to go chasing after that bullshit. Hilarious!
Oh, and welcome to DU!
revbones
(3,660 posts)Insults and deflection.
Doesn't change that you mentioned a candidate stumbling and I mentioned their opposition stumbling worse. Context matters.
R B Garr
(16,967 posts)You harass me with inane so-called gotcha bullshit. Hillary wasn't there. Hillary wasn't there. Hillary wasn't there.

R B Garr
(16,967 posts)that as a good metaphor.
And how ridiculous to suggest a lifelong politician ensconsed in a cushy Senator seat is responsible for Vietnam and Civil Rights! Bernie's whole schtick is just glorified Occupy Wall Street. Even THAT wasn't his idea -- he copied that, too.

(16,967 posts)Haven't we all?! Harassing people on the internet is hardly Participatory democracy. If you saw the interview, you would see that, for all his glib talking points, when pinned down, he obviously had not thought things through. It was a big red flag that he is more talk than anything.
Thanks for your polite response, though. Always appreciated.

(34,845 posts)Sure, he could still pull out a win. It's just barely possible, mathematically. But there comes a time when there's nothing to be gained by all this energy expended trying to 'convince' us of Sanders' rise. If the voters who are voting for Clinton need to be convinced of this, then obviously the message isn't getting out.

(34,845 posts)They are especially meaningless when more people are voting for Clinton than for Sanders. This is OWS all over again -complete disregard for facts, no sense of organization, getting high on platitudes and nothing else. And just like OWS, Sanders will rise like the Sun and then sink quickly over the horizon again.
I hope that doesn't happen but since he has failed to unite politicians like himself in his decades of public service, I don't see how he can do so now.

(39,451 posts)went on & on non-stop that Bernie needed to drop out.....
Then Bernie supporters immediately took over twitter for 24 hrs with the hastag #StillSanders and even tho it's not "trending" it still is going strong.
The MSM still talks about how hard it is for Bernie to win the delegates needed BUT they no longer talk about how he should drop out (overall). And the msm is also beginning to discuss how hard it might be for Hillary to win over the passionate Bernie supporters.
We are proving to them that we don't care what they say & we will fight back against them thru the use of social media.
We will not be silenced.
