He is on our side and makes no bones about it.

I agree, Nancy. He called Romney a bully in the first debate.

(297,692 posts)Thanks..I'll take reality where I can get it!
Talk with him a bunch at the DNC. He's definitely on our side.
It's important that we not start going down this road. Just because something isn't 100% positive doesn't mean it's some kind of GOP-biased attack. Let's leave the persecution complex to the Republicans.

(2,825 posts)I think Tweety is just getting VERY nervous about the election because he really can't stand Romney. Tweety can't think straight right now.
C. Todd desperately wants an electoral tie to push up his ratings. Todd seems to lean Republican or simply leans for "wonderful" electoral chaos. Chuck Todd is all about Chuck Todd lately. He's no longer thinking clearly either.
The other guy--I don't know much about him.

(25,415 posts)electoral win for Obama or a huge sweeping win for Romney. I mean, what? I can see the small electoral win but the huge Romney sweep? From where? Out of his ass?
I think Chris is on our side. Who knows who controls the guests they have on their show. He said Romney was a bully in the first debate and Chuck Toad disagreed.
NCLefty
(3,678 posts)Passionately so.
If they're only going to have people on Hardball that will declare Obama is going to win no matter what, and not actually discuss the issues and polls then it needs to be renamed Softball.
Stop bashing our own people, people :p
"Chris Matthews is pushing Romney!"
*sigh*

(25,415 posts)I am seeing a lot of it today. Wowzers. I have intense dislike for Chuck Toad but not Chris Matthews. Or Nate. Or PPP (who I admit had some sucky strange polls today). None of them are Republicans as far as I can tell.
ProudToBeBlueInRhody
(16,399 posts)He just doesn't pay attention to the polls until they throw them in front of him, and like a lot here he's like "whaaaaaaat?". Some people here just can't stand the least bit of questioning of our side.
BlueDemKev
(3,003 posts)...praying that what they were saying wasn't accurate. Still, I have to ask, if a program which is clearly pro-Obama says that things are falling into place for a Romney win, wouldn't there be some truth in that (as opposed to if pundits on Hannity were to say the same thing)?

(5,695 posts)I think Chris Matthews is genuinely scared that Romney might pull of a win. And seeing how Tweety is unable to filter his emotions - we all know this - he gets like this periodically. He'll be positively orgasmic on election night if/when Obama wins.
NCarolinawoman
(2,825 posts)Tweety has made it clear that he can't stand Romney and the neocon/teabaggers that Mitt cavorts with.
Tweety is just really nervous and had no idea that the polls that have been coming out today aren't all that bleak.
helpisontheway
(5,008 posts)and they were the ones spouting all of that crap. He openly disagreed with them regarding Romney' s demeanor during the show. I think he was simply considering their viewpoint regarding the race. When I read the posts earlier I was thinking he had morphed back into Tweety of 2000 and 2004. LOL Thankfully, that is not the Tweety that showed up today.
I will admit that Todd made one point that made me think. I have always wondered why Obama's job approval would be over 50% in a poll but he would still be losing to Romney in the 40's. They said perhaps the people do see improvement but they have already decided to vote for Romney (or they have decided that they do not want to vote for Obama). I can't think of any other explanation. How can someone say they approve of the job that the president has been doing but not say that they will vote for him? If they planned to vote for Obama then why not tell the pollster? As far as the other crap they were spouting, in one ear and out the other. At the beginning of Romney's bounce I did fear that it would spill over to the swing states and that it would be like a domino effect. I have more hope now that Obama appears to be going back up a little bit. I do not believe he will ever have a healthy lead like it was after the conventions.
