(10,164 posts)I find there to be plenty (to say the least) to criticize Hillary for while sticking to the issues. I posted a rather more light-hearted dig yesterday relating to the "Birdie Sanders" moment and regretted it. I didn't delete it because it was an OP and there were conversations in the thread between others I didn't want to shut down, but I did post my regrets in the thread.

(14,920 posts)She has a 100% rating from the Humane Society based on her legislative history.
http://www.seventeen.com/life/school/advice/a11156/spotlight-animal-rights/
.."She cosponsored the American Horse Slaughter Prevention Act, which aimed to end the slaughter of horses for their meat, and the Animal Fighting Prohibition Enforcement Act, which aimed to get rid of dogfighting, cockfighting, and all other types of animal fighting. Additionally, she has been working toward prohibiting schools from serving meat injected with antibiotics. ....
......Senator Clinton supports the Animal Welfare act, which ensures humane treatment of animals in zoos, circuses, research laboratories, and other facilities, as well as the Humane Methods of Slaughter Act, which makes sure that livestock like cattle and pigs are slaughtered painlessly rather than being cut, scalded, or skinned while still conscious.
She also supports such issues as cracking down on illegal animal fighting, preserving our wildlife, finding alternatives to animal testing, ensuring the safety of pet food, and protecting marine mammals.
------------------------------------------------------
That's just a start. How about this?
http://www.ifaw.org/united-kingdom/news/hillary-clinton-animal-welfare-organizations-meet-new-york-discuss-elephant-crisis
...The meeting launched a dialogue about how the NGO community, concerned national leaders and public figures can and must join forces to develop and implement a comprehensive, collaborative approach to tackle the global elephant poaching crisis.
Discussions followed on strategies that can effectively prevent poaching, break the trade chains through anti-trafficking efforts, and curtail the demand for ivory. We also discussed the need to secure greater financial and technical support to address the crisis and how a Clinton Global Initiative commitment could advance these strategies.
Mrs. Clinton showed a genuine passion for taking on the issues of illegal wildlife trafficking and poaching and commended the group for coming together to identify concrete ways to protect the worlds remaining elephants. She stressed the security implications of illegal wildlife trafficking, and pointed to the ongoing commitment of the Obama administration to address the crisis. She agreed to do whatever she can to assist with efforts to protect elephants and other species from illegal wildlife trafficking.
IFAWs staff, supporters and partners can be rightly proud that IFAW was invited to join with senior-level representatives from WCS, the African Wildlife Foundation, Association of Zoos and Aquaria, Conservation International, National Geographic, World Wildlife Fund, Save the Elephants, International Conservation Caucus Foundation, IUCN, Clinton Global Initiative, The Nature Conservancy and TRAFFIC to identify collective strategies to save elephants."

(3,017 posts)Bald eagles are notorious for letting osprey or bears do the work of catching a fish, then chasing the osprey until it drops the fish or swooping in and snatching it from the bear while it isn't looking. Hillary sees which of Bernie's proposals are playing well and then takes them for herself. And she feeds off the scraps from Wall Street and the rest of the top 0.1%.
Here's what Ben Franklin had to say about bald eagles in a letter to his daughter:
"For my own part I wish the Bald Eagle had not been chosen the Representative of our Country. He is a Bird of bad moral Character. He does not get his Living honestly. You may have seen him perched on some dead Tree near the River, where, too lazy to fish for himself, he watches the Labour of the Fishing Hawk; and when that diligent Bird has at length taken a Fish, and is bearing it to his Nest for the Support of his Mate and young Ones, the Bald Eagle pursues him and takes it from him."

(14,920 posts)the 2014 Clinton Global Initiative annual meeting included these two sessions, among many others. I hope that supporters and detractors alike will take a moment to click the link and take a look at the scope of the programs this organization is involved in. I have seen far too many ill-informed posts dismissing the CGI as some kind of pay-to-play slush fund.

Members of the Elephant Action Network will come together to discuss their CGI Commitments to Actionand the immediate next steps for 2015needed to halt the poaching and killing of African elephants and to curb the rising demand for their ivory. Stop the Poaching: What are the available resources in areas of advanced technology, training, and capacity building to support anti-poaching efforts?
Stop the Trafficking: How can we achieve better intelligence gathering through technology and training to cripple ivory supply chains in Africa and Asia?
Stop the Demand: Who is purchasing ivory in China, how do we halt the rise in ivory purchases, and how can we use available data to develop and implement more efficient demand reduction strategies?

(254 posts)I suppose that this post is intended to make people think about animal welfare, global warming, hunting and environmental policies and things like that but I think it is phrased rather poorly and can be easily misunderstood. I suggest you add some context to the original post instead of just throwing a weird sounding question like that?
I guess the reason for phrasing it the way you did is to be humorous but many people here are very touchy and easily offended so I also suggest phrasing your humour in a different way.
Regards.

(30,251 posts)Hillary and Chelsea had picked up Socks when he was a kitten and found him outside her piano teacher's house. Chelsea named him Socks. Bill suffers from quite a few allergies, one is to cats. The cat had a good life with the Clintons. Once Chelsea went away to college, Socks would hang out with Betty Currie and she became quite attached to him. By the time the Clintons left the WH, Betty's husband had passed away. She asked the Clintons if she could keep Socks. After consulting with Chelsea, they decided that he would have a better life with Betty. There's nothing wrong with giving a pet to someone who will love him if you know that it's better for the pet. Bill spends most of his time traveling for his foundation. Hillary had just gotten elected to the Senate. If they had kept Socks, his only company would have been the SS and look how well they took care of Buddy. He was under their care when Buddy ran out of the house in Chappaqua and was killed by a car. I think that Socks was probably very happy with Betty. Besides, they kept in touch with Betty. It's not as if they erased her and him from their lives.
