Obama strongly endorses Debbie Wasserman-Schultz this morning

As Debbie works to gut the Consumer Financial Protection Agency on behalf of the payday lender industry. Thom Hartmann wonders if this means DWS is in trouble in her primary.

I will be voting for Canova.
I will not, at any time or under any circumstances, vote for Debbie Wasserman-Schultz.
I find Obama's endorsement to be exactly what I expected - and I don't see why I should care who he endorses.
He does not have to live in Florida - and if he did, he wouldn't have to actually live the way most of us do, under the combined heels of Rick Scott and DWS. Not cooperating with that.

Nobody is "about to be indicted." An indictment requires a Grand Jury, which will not be called until the Justice Department investigates any report sent by the FBI. That' isn't happening before November. Not a chance.

I doubt the FBI's report will be out until after the general election either. In any case, it's likely to conclude that no prosecutable crime occurred in the first place.

Don't get your hopes up...

When he bowed to pressure from the bankster lovers in both parties and didn't support Warren to head the Consumer Protection agency she had created. Obama revealed himself as a 3rd way Democrat pretty quickly.

http://www.motherjones.com/mojo/2014/05/tim-geithner-book-obama-elizabeth-warren-consumer-bureau

<What stands out in Geithner's retelling is the depth of President Obama's admiration for Warren, and how much Obama agonized over what to do with Warren and the consumer bureau. The bureau was, after all, her idea. Here's what Geithner writes:

The President was torn. Progressives were turning Warren into another whose-side-are-you-on litmus test. The head of the National Organization for Women publicly accused me of blocking Warren, calling me a classic Wall Street sexist. Valerie Jarrett, the President's confidante from Chicago, was pushing hard for Warren, too, and she was worried I would stand in the way. At a meeting with Rahm and Valerie, I told the group that if the President wanted to appoint Warren to run the CFPB, I wouldn't try to talk him out of it, but everyone in the room knew she had no chance of being confirmed. The president, who almost never called me at home, made an exception on this issue. It was really eating away at him. He had a huge amount of respect for Warren, but he didn't want an endless confirmation fight, and he was hesitant to nominate someone so divisive that it would undermine the agency's ability to get up and running, as well as its ability to build broader legitimacy beyond the left.>

Obama wanted the consumer protection agency to build "broader legitimacy beyond the left"? Nobody beyond the left wanted that agency in the first place. The corporatist Democrats and Republicans wanted to gut it as quickly as possible.

Endorse the incumbant, discourage primaries and challenges to establishment, etc. Disappointing to be sure. Unfortunately, I think Obama likes things to be neat and predictable.

The fact that this kind of thing can actually happen with someone who's as outright morally bankrupt as Wasserman-Schultz-- I'm done.

Perhaps come February, 2017 someone will be receiving some big checks for giving speeches to payday lenders? Similar things have happened in the past. Whole "charitable" foundations have thrived and prospered navigating the Third Way..
