Jon Ralston, a veteran Nevada reporter, said on his blog that Saturdays action is expected to switch two delegates to Sanders, giving Clinton an 18 to 17 lead in Nevada, but that is still pending the results of the state convention next month, when those 12 slots could again change. Ah, the caucus process.
Clinton spokesman Brian Fallon emphasized that the results could change again and noted some irregularities in the process on Saturday. Regardless, he said, Clinton still has more delegates in Nevada than Sanders.
Sanders campaign manager Jeff Weaver said his team believes Sanders has at least narrowed the gap to a single delegate and he raised the possibility that his candidate could actually come out of Nevada with more delegates than Clinton when all is said and done.
Weaver also complained about the messy process, saying on Twitter that the Democratic National Committee should take a hard look at whether Nevada deserves one of the first four slots on the nominating calendar. Its Democratic caucuses followed contests in Iowa and New Hampshire and preceded South Carolina.

● These County Conventions choose the county's delegates to the Nevada State Democratic Convention. While a non-binding Presidential Preference Poll is conducted during the Conventions, delegates at the County level are not bound to their declared Presidential preference. The number of national convention can be estimated base on voting in today's convention. No national convention delegates are selected until the state Convention on 14 May.
Saturday 14 May - Sunday 15 May 2016: The Nevada State Democratic Convention convenes to choose 35 of Nevada's 43 delegates to the Democratic National Convention. A binding Presidential Preference vote will occur by 10AM PDT on 14 May. A mandatory 15 percent threshold is required in order for a presidential contender to be allocated National Convention delegates at either the congressional district or statewide level. Presidential candidates have the right to approve their pledged delegates.
● 23 district delegates are to be allocated proportionally to presidential contenders based on the support among the delegates to the State Convention from the State's congressional districts.
● In addition, 12 delegates are to be allocated to presidential contenders based on the support among the delegates to the State Convention as a whole.

What a f****** mess.
pnwmom
(108,988 posts)4. Yes it is. The mess is built into the DNA and the only fix
is joining the modern world and switch to primaries.
Going forward, the DNC needs to update the system and get the states to buy into it so everybody knows the new rules well in advance of the next Presidential election.

They took the Nevada results down for a few hours yesterday and when they put them back up, nothing had changed.

Heh. If Hillary's team had complained about how ridiculous and messy Nevada was, can you imagine the screams about how she must be mad this was "ruining her coronation" or something equally stupid?
