Is there ever a reason to vote for Trump in an open primary?

Last edited Sun Apr 3, 2016, 04:58 PM - Edit history (1)

I have family members that live in Wisconsin thinking about voting for Trump to screw Rebuplicans. They have never voted Rebuplican before but think that if it will help Trump become the Republican nominee then it will make it easier to for Hillary to win this fall. My question is would this be a good idea?

Update; after passing along thoughts expressed here my sister in law decided to vote for Bernie but she is not sure if her friends will stick to there plans to mess with the other side.

Why do you keep posting about doing this? Didn't you have a thread yesterday about this that was closed?

We agree on something...Folks should vote their conscience and not try to game the system.

We haven't agreed on much today but hey, this is a start. I'm sure there are other things too. Hey, I just noticed we both like Ali. Big fan of his boxing and his life's work.

I'm from Kentucky. I live outside of Louisville. I signed up to volunteer at the Ali Center and tried to convince the corporation I was working for at the time to donate to the Center (they didn't). We ended up moving and it was too far to travel on a regular basis so I didn't get to volunteer.

Here's a link to the Center's online webpage. They currently have a 10 year anniversary exhibit online.

Delegates are proportional. Focus on that. The GOP will implode regardless.

there are ten of them (including some of their friends) in madison who had decided to do this, their reason that they gave was that Bernie was a lock to win that county and they wanted their votes to have an effect which could help this fall. I wonder if others are thinking this way I had heard that this may have happened in Michigan.

Like I said in your hidden thread about it: I could never convince my lady bits to vote for that fucker, even as a joke or perceived strategical move.

and ensure a contested convention.

Seems they should be much more concerned about getting Hillary the nominee 1st though.

The race is too close to waste a vote on a Republican. The RNC is doing everything they can to sink him already.
