Clinton, Sanders agree to New York debates — but not the same one

The two Democratic presidential candidates settled into a standoff Sunday over a potential New York debate.

In interviews, Hillary Clinton told two news organizations, NY1 and ABC, that she plans to attend debates they are attempting to sponsor on the night of April 14 and the morning of April 15, respectively.

The campaign of Bernie Sanders, meanwhile, issued a statement saying he had accepted an invitation from NBC to participate in a prime-time debate on April 10. A spokesman also indicated that the senator from Vermont would make himself available on the nights of April 11, 12 or 13.

“We are at the point that if we agreed to a debate in Williamsburg, they'd say Bushwick,” Clinton spokesman Brian Fallon said on Twitter. “If we said Gowanus, they'd demand Park Slope.”
