I am 60 years old. I don't listen to rap at all. I barely listen to rock. Maybe, I listen to jazz, classical and the oldies but I have heard of them and him. It might have to do with a whole variety of factors but it is not that the group was not critically acclaimed or do not have an important role in popular culture.

I mostly don't care about celebrity endorsements. They are entertainers. Entitled to their opinions, but I have no more respect for them than any other random person.

I like Killer Mike's work OK. I am not huge fan, but I have some of his early stuff on a workout playlist and listened to the recent Run the Jewels cat sounds album a few times before getting bored with it.

I think he was an awful surrogate for Sanders, and wrong about many things, but I still don't have it in me to hate the guy. He is certainly not a rat fucker or whatever. Most of my criticism centers on the Sanders campaign team for the way they used him, not on Mike as an individual. He was just one of the pawns in the game, not a player.
