Why does Bernie Lie? He doesn't need to. So why do it?

Especially at a crucial time in the primary season. Bernie is being reckless when constancy is most needed.

"Fact checkers from NPR, The Washington Post and The New York Times agree that the claims that the Sanders campaign is making about donations that Hillary Clinton accepted from the fossil fuel industry are misleading."

That unlike the so-called "fact checkers" you list, someone did the actual research at this obscure website, called the senate website, where all the facts as layed out by Greenpeace (not Bernie btw) were verified ... NPR, WaPo, and the NYT should be ashamed of themselves for the pityful job the did at attempting to cover for Hillary.

Sanders never made the claim. He simply agreed to the valid and factually proven claim provided by GreanPeace analysts when Clinton attacked his campaign instead of answering the activists questions and challenge.

Why are you lying now?

and case of deluded projection than this one.

Hillary supporters need to let this one the fuck go. Prolonging the agony by stringing this out is a self-inflicted wound.

It dings your candidate. We all get that, but there is no need to turn it into a prolonged train wreck.

What on earth are you thinking? If you mess up and acknowledge that you messed up then move on to something else, it goes away a lot quicker.

This should not be the hill, no pun intended, that Hillary chooses to die on, nor should her supporters encourage it. It benefits nobody and harms the Democratic party.

that I cannot believe people are clinging to this line of argument. Hell, we all do dumb things, say dumb things, and politicians are in the spotlight more than everybody else when they do them, but decent politicians know when to shut the hell up and let things rest.

Nobody is right 100% of the time, and to try to craft yourself as right 100% of the time is a fool's errand.

Some if you are either naive or so cynical you are willing to lie to perpetuate corruption.

EVERYONE knows that the campaign finance system is regularly abused and ignored by Pacs, Superpacs, bundlers and all other kinds of cute tricks to get around the purpose of those laws.

IT IS COMMON KNOWLEDGE. It is not debatable. If it were not true, K Street would be a footpath, and lobbyists would have to find honest work.

How Hillary Clinton's State Department Sold Fracking to the World
A trove of secret documents details the US government's global push for shale gas.
—Mariah Blake | September/October 2014 Issue

~excerpt~

Under her leadership, the State Department worked closely with energy companies to spread fracking around the globe—part of a broader push to fight climate change, boost global energy supply, and undercut the power of adversaries such as Russia that use their energy resources as a cudgel. But environmental groups fear that exporting fracking, which has been linked to drinking-water contamination and earthquakes at home, could wreak havoc in countries with scant environmental regulation. And according to interviews, diplomatic cables, and other documents obtained by Mother Jones, American officials—some with deep ties to industry—also helped US firms clinch potentially lucrative shale concessions overseas, raising troubling questions about whose interests the program actually serves.

His supporters bought a bunch of snake oil and somehow it's everyone else's fault that they got conned. Maybe they should go sue Tad Devine and get some of the money back, considering how much of it Devine has siphoned off the Sanders campaign.

He has been one of the very few politicians who actually gives a shit about the people. You can disagree with what he is proposing, but it's not a schtick. He doesn't flip flop when the wind changes course like others in this race because he's confident in what he has believed in all his life.

Yes, his whole persona is a lie. It's a carefully cultivated "radical" brand, including the rumpled suits and moron's haircut. His time in Congress is a bust, with very little to show for it.

And it's a mark against him that his ideas don't evolve with the time period around him. Times change, people change, society changes. It's not the fucking 1960s any more, but you wouldn't know it listening to that con artist.

There's a clinic about 4 miles from my house that wouldn't be there if it wasn't for Bernie. I think that's the legislation he's most proud of, but he's done a whole lot more. You're obviously more interested in denigrating him which probably indicates you're on a paid mission.

The New York Times disagree with Sanders on the lobbyist bundling, “Greenpeace also looked at contributions to Mrs. Clinton’s campaign that were donated or bundled by lobbyists who represent the fossil fuel industry, which amounted to about $1.5 million, according to the organization. But that figure still is a small slice of Mrs. Clinton’s fundraising, and it includes lobbyists who represent clients in a range of industries in addition to fossil fuel companies.”

{Actually, Per Greenpeace:
"All told, the campaign to elect Hillary Clinton for president in 2016 has received more than $4.5 million from lobbyists, bundlers, and large donors connected the fossil fuel industry."}

An NPR fact check of the claims found, “The Center for Responsive Politics, parsing Federal Election Commission reports, finds that workers in the oil and gas industries have given Clinton $307,561 so far — compared to, say, $21 million from the securities and investment industry, or $14.4 million from lawyers and law firms. Put another way, the oil and gas money is two-tenths of 1 percent of Clinton’s $159.9 million overall fundraising. It roughly equals the amount Sanders raised every 16 hours in the first quarter of 2016.”

The Washington Post’s fact check found that the Sanders campaign is exaggerating the amount of the donations, “The Sanders campaign is exaggerating the contributions that Clinton has received from the oil and gas industry. In the context of her overall campaign, the contributions are hardly significant. It’s especially misleading to count all of the funds raised by lobbyists with multiple clients as money “given” by the fossil-fuel industry.

So, the numbers MAY be a bit off, but everyone agrees she gets million and million of dollars from LOBBYISTS, of various sorts.

Per Clinton:
"Hillary Clinton told supporters that lobbyists should be exposed and publicly called out.
"Maybe use social media? Maybe make a concerted effort to really call these people out all the time, get some social pressure on them, get people to know their names,"

Seems all the poutrage is worrying about the wrong thing.
