2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumLet's anticipate some of the CREATIVE attacks Hillary will unleash on Bernie!
Wolf Blitzer just repeated it, folks! Camp Clinton has now made it their mission to "disqualify and discredit" Bernie Sanders.
The attacks begin immediately--and they will be frequent and lethal!
Ohhhh...I can't wait to see what David "Hatchet Man" Brock and Blue Nation Review has in store for Bernie--assuming that they've been being kind, thus far.
The best offense is a good defense--so what will attacks will Hillary unleash on Bernie?
Any idea about what these attacks will be?
(I'll add my own guesses).

2.) Bernie will make chocolate illegal. Say good-bye to Milky Way bars and kiss those Lindt dark-chocolates goodbye. No more, says Bernie.

Think of any good thing about Sanders, and the smear attacks will attack those good things directly.

(25,270 posts)Hillary resorting to 'scorched earth' tactics speaks to me as a defensive move on her part. They're worried. Bernie poses a threat to them. So her campaign has made the decision to launch an offensive attack. Should we call this a 'pre-emptive' strike? Remember how that worked out for the Bush Administration. So I guess we're in for some 'Shock and Awe'.
One question - I hear that CNN will moderate the April 14th debate. Are they going to go along with Hillary's attack plan - or are they going to make her squirm?

(1,377 posts)I have a much broader base to build a winning coalition on, she said in the interview, citing an article by The Associated Press.
It found how Senator Sander's support among working, hard-working Americans, non-jew Americans, is weakening again, and how non-jews in both states who had not completed college were supporting me.
Theres a pattern emerging here, she said

(40,416 posts)Since Vermont, like many states, have not had party registrations for years.
Stupid, stupid, Hillary supporters. Why in the Sam Hell do you think states have open primaries????? It is because voters cannot declare a party when they register to vote, you dummies. That's the way in Vermont, and in Michigan, and in all the other open primary states. The voter chooses the party ballot when they get to the polls.
If you don't like it, tough shit. That's the way it works. If you don't like that Bernie has won nearly all the Democratic caucuses, tough shit! That's the way that works, too.
Yes, it is a messy affair, but it is what we have. That Hillary doesn't get to crown herself queen is not Bernie's fault. Just maybe it is that Hillary Clinton is a horrible candidate, just as she was when she lost (badly) to Barack Obama in 2008.
I only hope that the voters save us all from another Clinton presidency. The White House is not an inheritance. There is no entitlement. That is what this country fought a real revolution to secure for us.
No Queen Hillary!

Segami
(14,923 posts)if she wanted to stop Bernie, early on in her campaign, she should have come out swinging hard on Bernie.
BUT, she didn't and that miscalculation allowed him to hang around, introduce himself and continue promoting his progressive message to the masses.
So, if I may use a boxing comparison,......a pro boxer who trained hard to endure a solid 15 round matchup, might decide (as a strategy) to bait his hard-punching opponent into a rope-a-dope scenario, forcing him to expend vital energies early on. By the later rounds, his opponent's energy levels will have been quite depleted making him easy pickings for the challenger.
When you have your opponent on the ropes dazed, you never give them time to recover to clear the bees buzzing in their head......
The Clinton campaign going full throttle on Bernie at this late stage of the campaign, WILL be met with resistance from the Bernie camp and will be perceived by his supporters that the Clintons, DWS, DNC, Establishment et al...are all aligning together, attempting to steal this primary away from Bernie before the convention. This WILL ignite social media and all his supporters to drop their gloves and respond.......flame on!

(12,958 posts)By watching what she is caught doing today. If she gets caught lying today, in a couple days her surrogates will accuse Sanders of lying. If it comes to light she took money from a bank, soon her and her surrogates will be accusing HIM of taking money from bankers. They don't care that the accusations will never stick. They just want to deflect and project everything back. It's very petty and dishonest.

(24,010 posts)It was a pretty useful 'rule of thumb' when we were trying to figure out what was really going on, during the Bush junta:
Whatever they say, the opposite is true; and, whatever they accuse others of doing, they are doing or planning to do.
More than useful. It was almost infallible. It sucks to find out that it is applicable to a Democrat, and to our benighted 'front-runner' and to a person that might end up in the White House. But I've found that it is applicable to Clinton. Again (go ahead and apply it to her words or deeds--it's uncanny):
Whatever they say, the opposite is true; whatever they accuse others of doing, they are doing or planning to do.
It's classic neocon (and, lo and behold, Robert Kagan, who wrote the blueprint for Bush, Cheney and Rumsfeld, is advising Clinton, along with Henry Fucking Kissinger).
I agree with everything you say, except that it's "petty." It's not petty. It's Stalinist.
