2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumMy apologies to Hillary Inc.
Look - I know going into this, you expected Hillary to blow Bernie out of the water so she'd have a lock on the nomination early. DU would be rid of us annoying Bernie supporters, and you'd be living high on the hog having a grand ole time gearing up for the GE.
Then Bernie started winning. But in your eyes - winning wasn't really winning. Those wins weren't good enough; they were caucus states, white states, men only states....you know, the states that don't mean anything if you're a real Democrat. How dare Bernie run as a Democrat and actually win.
After every win, the smears got increasingly worse, and now Bernie is doing battle with the kitchen sink (along with the stove, fridge, dishwasher, and maybe a garbage disposal for good measure). The level of animosity and condescension from Hillary Inc. has increased dramatically too.
So here we are still in the thick of it, and this thing is far from over. Hillary Inc. talks about the MATHS and tries to sound confident but it's so transparent. They know there's a good chance the coronation may not happen.
If I were in the shoes of Hillary Inc., I'd probably be completely pissed off and bewildered too.

(13,685 posts)Bernie is like a freight train coming down the tracks with millions of progressives pushing hard to make it happen.
Enough of the establishment's backwardness and bribes. We are taking back our government from coast to coast.
Our friends in the H camp will be forgiven, if they ask for forgiveness. Otherwise do we really even need them?
ETA: PS: sorry person replying, you are being duly ignored.

(4,451 posts)We're going after Bernie Sanders because he is going to split and run on a 3rd party ticket.. They have already decided....DEMOCRATS have to campaign against Bernie and GOP.

(55,981 posts)And the party has been split by the Conservative Democrats or DLC or The Third Way or whatever suits you best. The Democratic Party is not the party of the wealthy 1%, it is the party of the 99%. So go find your own party.

(4,451 posts)The math is not there for him.. He will run a 3rd party. You guys are preparing and so are we. You can TRY to hijack the party but DEMOCRATS are standing up. I think you know that.

(55,981 posts)fighting back against the control of big money in our government. Democrats support Sanders. Sanders will not run third party nor does the left want him to. We will fight to throw out the big money influence that has corrupted our party.

(3,226 posts)Please can you give a link to any where Bernie has said he will not back the finale nominee of our party and run as a third party?

(4,451 posts)We take it literal so.. Go ahead. We are preparing for that as of now. DEMOCRATS won't vote for Bernie.

(53,066 posts)We knew Sanders was doing to do well in Wisconsin. One, the demographics of the state favor him. Two, it's an open primary. Clinton's campaign had said she would lose even before the election. They determined they weren't willing to spend lots of resources in the state because of its relatively low delegate count. For example, they didn't even pay for the auto-dialing system for WI.
Sanders out performed the polls. Good for him. Yet he still failed to reach the targets he needs to catch up to Clinton's earned delegate lead. He has a very long way to go to catch up to her. That doesn't mean it's impossible, but it's very difficult for him.
Now if he wins NY by a significant margin, that will be a problem. Wisconsin isn't.

(31,529 posts)If there is an apology in your post, can you please point it out? I must have missed it.
Also, speaking for myself, I am not pissed off or bewildered. You support your candidate, I'll support mine. I've looked at the numbers and expect we'll be addressing Madam President in January.
