It's because she used the subway trip as a campaign stunt. Who cares whether it was legal or not, but the fact that she blatantly set up a photo op to make it seem like she's "one of the people" is laughable.

to rub it in the face of Sanders for using the word 'token' instead of 'metro pass', then that might be a good argument.

Anyone ever call a 'Puffs facial tissue' a 'Kleenex'?

Not to mention it's a jab at the NY Media who treated the subway ride like the royal wedding and couldn't be bothered to correct the record on the Daily News hit job.

MTA Police actually frequently fine people for conduct similar to Hillary's.

It's not a double-standard if she's not fined for something nobody is fined for; it is a double-standard if she's getting away with something she wouldn't get away with if she wasn't Hillary Clinton and is getting away with it precisely because she is Hillary Clinton.

You or I going 5mph over the speed limit on the interstate. When you have a candidate who's being investigated by the FBI, has accepted millions of dollars from special interests, and will manipulate the truth to win an election I think something like this is pretty small beans by comparison.

There's no such thing as a non-severe offense in the context of a "comply-or-die" enforcement code.

Eric Garner was murdered by NYC cops for the mere suspicion of a less severe offense.

Hell, in NYC proper hundreds of thousands of people have been subject to "stop and frisk" searches simply because a police officer didn't like they way they looked.

So in NYC a person openly breaking the law is not confronted, but hundreds of thousands of people who broke no law are routinely subject to unlawful searches.

This is a two-tier system of law. One for us peons, and one for the exalted aristocracy like Clinton.

Stuff like this, while it may seem petty to you, is just another brick in the wall to the average American. Most of whom see DC as out of touch. If you or I did this, we'd be fined.
