You can probably predict what will happen in the upcoming states based on the results from surrounding states.

(7,231 posts)especially when we take into account that the polls have consistently underrated Sanders' results by about 10 %.

(8,168 posts)I don't think enough Democratic strongholds have voted yet, the only trend is Hillary won the Republican South, but also Democratic cities, and Bernie wins the Republican suburbs. I don't see how one can make any generalizations beyond that?
Barack_America
(28,876 posts)Reliably Blue from my recollection.
Sorry, also Hawaii.
Dem2
(8,168 posts)Bill Clinton came in 4th place!! in WA back in the day. VT is Bernie's home state. Maine has a mental case teabagger Republican for a governor, but it's the one reliably blue state that he won, though in Bernie's neighborhood.
So, put things into perspective, will ya? Jesus.
Barack_America
(28,876 posts)...that have voted so far.
The rest are swing states or red states, with the possible exception of IL, and the definite exception of MA, that one was an oversight.
Dem2
(8,168 posts)My generalizations (Hillary - South and cities, Bernie - Republican suburbs) hold and yours has so little evidence to back it up, it doesn't make sense to say it.
Barack_America
(28,876 posts)You think Madison, WI and Ann Arbor, MI are "Republican suburbs"?
Hardly.
Dem2
(8,168 posts)So you're going to continue making that point because you like how it sounds, overwhelming evidence to the contrary dismissed out of hand?
Barack_America
(28,876 posts)...then we have nothing to discuss.
I fully recognize that Sanders does poorly with red state Democrats. If you can't recognize his strength with progressives, then you are deluding yourself.
Dem2
(8,168 posts)I mean, I've never one expected a person on the internet to admit them made a mistake, but...

(5,240 posts)Will never vote Blue in the General. Florida might if they had an inspiring candidate to vote for.
One who fills arenas and beats anyone the Republicans put up by several points.
Hillary has a hard time getting her delegates to show up to vote.
DCBob
(24,689 posts)It really doesnt matter if she wins one "patch" or another as long as we win Florida.
Bernie might have trouble there since he doesn't connect well with POC.
Sky Masterson
(5,240 posts)The guy has massive street cred on civil rights.
Any POC that voted for Hillary would vote for Bernie in the General.
Add that to the crowds of people Bernie pulls and the result would be an even bigger win for Sanders.
Hell, He performs better against EVERY Republican still running by several points over Clinton.
DCBob
(24,689 posts)If he is the Dem nominee they will unleash their massive and coordinated attack machine. Bernie will be torn to shreds.
RazBerryBeret
(3,075 posts)it will be like nothing we've ever seen... the only ones who won't target her will be the corps who own her.
DCBob
(24,689 posts)RazBerryBeret
(3,075 posts)you have no idea what she can handle as a presidential nominee.
I know she has a team, and experience as a SENATOR and a FIRST LADY; and considering the shit that was thrown at her then.... it's gonna be way worse. She has YEARS of questionable dealings.
There will be SO many cries of "sexism" "unfair" "disrespectful"!!!! and I say that as a woman.
DCBob
(24,689 posts)Did you watch the Benghazi interrogations? She chewed them up and spit them out. That is a preview of things to come.
RazBerryBeret
(3,075 posts)and do you really think that is an asset? I think it's kind of a drawback.
Sanders has worked for 35 years in government actually working WITH opposition and republicans.
yes, I did watch the Benghazi interrogations and that is NOT what I want to see for the next 4 years.
That sort of opposition will bring this country to a standstill (again).
DCBob
(24,689 posts)I actually think she will work with the Republicans.. she has to to get anything done.
RazBerryBeret
(3,075 posts)to "work" with Republicans.
but I HIGHLY doubt they will "work" with her.
and that's based on her past history that's you're so proud of...
"chew them up and spit them out"
the way to get things done!
sorry, just my opinion here.

LOL!
(My city, a blue dot in a sea of red, went for Bernie. The county, as a whole, barely went for Hillary)

(631 posts)More Green to follow.
If these states were lined up on a Primary Date timeline, Green would dominate and Blue would be deep in history.
